I worked as a pizza delivery driver for 6 months after I got my Master’s degree.  It sucks!

I ended up going back to school again.

Good luck, I am still working at the same job I had while in college which at times make me feel mad about spending money on school when nothing has really changed.

((((hugs))) We’re in a recession. Don’t feel bad. When we’re out of this, you’ll forget bout McDonald’s!

Oh, my sister applied there, but they didn’t hire her. Not sure why, but I assume because she has a B.S. and they figured she wouldn’t be there long. SHe’s going back for her Master’s now.

@MsMamaBear: probably.  When applying for a job you are over qualified for always lie about your education!

I knew a girl who couldn’t get a job at borders because she had a film degree, and they told her she was overqualified! You might want to dumb down your resume for entry level work! I hope you get something better!

It’s just the way things are right now. You have to do what you have to do. It won’t be like this forever.

I graduated last May with my teaching degree in K-12 art and I’m currently working at Wal-Mart.  I know exactly how you feel.   To be honest, I would rather be working at McDonalds.  I enjoyed food service more than I do retail. :/

I’m just hoping my search for a teaching position pays off this spring.  I didn’t have any luck fresh out of school.  The market was flooded last year with experienced teachers that were looking for new jobs because of school closings.

My husband has an engineering degree and is working at Target for $10/hour. It’s pretty shitty. One of my friends has a chemical engineering degree and is working at McDonalds =(

Give it time! It definitely won’t be like this forever….

You certainly are not alone!!!

They’re saying the recession is over, but it will be years before that change is seen by actual people looking for work.

The most screwed will be those who graduated during the recession.

Spoken as someone with 2 degrees in Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics, currently working retail after losing my fellowship and interviewing for a second shift manufacturing job for $12/hr next Monday.

I wouldn’t have gone to college at all had I known.

I know how you feel. I’ve applied for every job I can find too.

I graduated in 2009 with a B.S. degree, and I can’t even get an interview. I’ll take what others have said and dumb down my resume when applying for entry level, though I honestly hate to do it. I’m thinking of going back to school for my Master’s, but it probably won’t be happening anytime soon because of circumstances.

Good luck in finding a job.

Sorry, I know what you’re going through. I have a BA and I’m working at a restaurant. I try to look at the bright side of things, at least I have job I guess.
