At my friend's wedding, there was a ton of singing! My friend was in her acapella group in college, and she naturally invited most of the group. There was so much singing. I thought it was great. The good thing about acapella is you can sing any genre of music, so you can make choices that are nice for all guests, you know? Their singing was all spontaneous, since they were all guests and she didn't want to make them "work" but I could totally see how this could work.
I saw your other post about the RI meetup. Are you on the knot?

I'm "on" The Knot, but I barely use it, except for its checklist. I'm a WeddingBee gal at heart. I found WeddingBee exactly 23 hours after I got engaged, and have been hooked ever since, despite my low post count :)

I love a cappella music, and I cannot wait for Glee to come out on Fox this fall. I'd love to surprise my wedding guests with an a cappella group performance. Something up beat and fun. Two questions:
1) Has anyone hired college or student groups (of any musical persuasion!) for their weddings?
2) Feedback on the idea....?
