I’m having trouble thinking up colors for my tablecloths and bridesmaid dresses. My fiance is Welsh and so I really want to incorporate his family’s tartan into the wedding, but I don’t want to have an all red/burgandy color palette.
This is the Tartan: (The purple is actually a dark purplish red/burgandy I don’t know why it shows it as light purple)
I would really like to use burnt orange and dark purple with this but I can’t figure out if I should have the tablecloths the same color as the bridesmaid dresses or if the bridesmaid dresses should be purple and the tablecloths burnt orange. Would that look too icky? Maybe I shouldn’t use either as the tablecloths?? What do you all think???
HELP! 😀 Thanks!

I would do white or ivory tableclothes and use a table runner in purple or orange and/or have colored linen napkins. I think purple or orange tableclothes would be too much!

If it were me, I wouldn’t want the Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses the same color as the tablecloths. Do the BM’s in a nice purple dress and the tables in burnt orange with maybe purple napkins…or vice versa.

the Bridesmaid or Best Man dont have to match the reception- they arent decor! once they are there no one will compare them with the tables. I think you could choose one solid color of the tartan like the gold color (thats how it looks on my monitor and have the napkins in that color. Are you going to have the actual tartan iseelf on the tables?

No, the tartan will act as an accent for things like a ribbon on the cake and stuff. So I want to make sure it doesn’t clash with any of the other decor.
