We just foud out our offer was accepted!! (yay!)
Now i’ve got personalizing the home on the brain, and badly! The house has oak trim throughout the house, typically I’m a white trim person however all of the doors and windows are oak/ cased in oak color so I’d prefer not to repaint everything.
Can some of you ladies with natural wood trim post photos of the colors you chose for the wallpaint? This is our 1st home so we dont have to worry about matching/ coordinating with furniture either. And we’re going to be laying new carpet/ floooring as well. Just looking to see how certain colors match with the oak coloring!

I would pick one color you like or a inspiration piece (like a painting, pottery, chair etc) and use that as your inspiration for a color pallette.
This is a great tool to use to find a color pallet you like. You can create your own or look at other peoples.

Not to be Buzz Killington, but don’t invest mental energy into this house yet. You still have inspection and financing and titling to get through. Unfortunately there are still opportunities for things to go wrong, and it’s much harder to break-up with a house when you’ve already started decorating it as your own home in your daydreams. First and foremost, this is a really expensive business transaction. Try to stay as detached as possible until you get those keys in your hand (and then you can go happy crazy!)

I agree with Lovekiss. Lots of contracts fall through. Wait until after the inspection and appraisal come back to mentally decorate everything!

@blondie_bride: i agree w/ the PP, but when you are finally in the process of picking color schemes and such, design-seeds.com is a great website for color combos.

INSPECTION PASSED & APPRAISAL CAME IN 5K HIGHER THAN OUR PRICE!!! Closing on the house in about a week! =) =)
Now that those checkpoints have been reached, I’d really appreciate some photos of homes w/ oak stained trim to figure out how to being mapping out the room colors.
Thanks ladies =)
