My first plea to the bees!
I need help coming up with a color scheme. The wedding will be in June, outdoors (hopefully!). The decor will be somewhat rustic (think wood and burlap elements). Food will be BBQ. The reception venue is primarily white… and my table linens will be too (except for runners/napkins). So, I’m looking for some pops of color that can be done cheaply.
I love jewel tones, or bright colors like red. Not much of a red roses girl, though. Since flowers are so pricey, I’ll probably do a lot of diy paper decorations (pinwheels, bunting, etc.) So, perhaps some colors that would be suggestive of a fair/carnival?
Help! I feel like I can’t move on so many things until I make this decision!

you can really use any colour for your rustic look. it’s the elements that you use that will keep the rustic theme going.
if you like bright colours, go with them. i would google rustic wedding images and start my search from there to see what appeals to me.

How do you feel about yellow? There are some really nice shades that would pop against the white you’re planning on using. I’m sure whatever you decide on will look great.

@Sunnybrook: Sounds like the same as my wedding! Outdoors, somewhat rustic decor, white linens, white chairs, etc. And we’re serving BBQ too! Lol. I love vintage-y things and the 190s/old Hollywood, so my colors are gold, blush, champagne, mauve, and some other muted colors. Our wedding is in November, so we’re skirting tradition and ignoring all of the conventional fall colors. I’m a big believer that you should choose whatever colors you like (and that look nice with your venue), regardless of the time of year, because you only get to do it once 🙂
I LOVE your idea of red, it’s such a festive color. And you totally don’t have to use red roses! Blehh I am not a fan of red roses either, they’re not for me. But red is a really cute color to use in pinwheels! Especially when mixed with a few other colors.
You should spend some time browsing the website http://www.theperfectpalette.com/… There are some AMAZING palettes and ideas there! Pretty much endless!
I think a multi-colored palette is much prettier and more visually interesting than just one or two colors… here’s some pics from one of my favorite weddings of all time, a cirus-themed wedding (the pinwheels match your inspiration!) and some really playful colors:

You guys are great! Some of these palette websites are incredible. I think I’m starting to like the idea of “berries”. We’ll be having pie, so plum, raspberry and strawberry colors would all be lovely, and a pie-crust brownish gold will match with our rustic theme (and incorporating burlap and other low cost rustic items).
Berry pie color scheme! Om nom nom.
