My fiancee and I just picked our wedding reception venue – the New Bedford Whaling Museum in New Bedford, MA. obviously, it’s a nautical look, but there is a lot of exposed brick and concrete floors to offset it, and it’s a newly remodeled and modern museum. We had chosen our colors of ivory, brown and sage green before we had chosen our venue, and now I am beginning to think that the two aren’t going to blend well.. there are a lot of blues in the museum itself, but I am NOT a blue person and would rather not have that in my color scheme. Any ideas if this is something I can actually pull off, or if not, what color scheme would go well in a museum such as this without using blue? Thanks for all of your ideas! =)

I think green and blue look amazing together, I think your original colors will work great 🙂

I think everything will be just fine! Blue and green don’t clash, and can even go together if you want them to. So it can be totally possible to just ignore the blue in the venue and just decorate your reception however you want.

It’s hard to tell without seeing pictures of the space. I will say though that if you feel they really don’t go together, don’t try to fight the look of the space. That never looks right when a bride forces her colors despite them completely clashing with the space.
I think there area lot of colors that will look great with blues and brick without actually using blue. Post pics of your venue space for more imput.
