Hello all you lovely bees! I’m in need of some venue suggestions or overall advice. My fiance and I are trying to plan a wedding in just around 5 months. The hardest part of this has been finding a venue. I’ve found 4-5 venues I LOVE that are all booked for the day we want. (Our date has been chosen by my FI job, our want of a honey moon, and wanting a fall/summer wedding without getting into next year.) Anyways any one have any suggestions for inexpensive venues within an hour of Denver that have a rusticy feel and can hold around 200 guests? Or any advice on moving it to a Friday or Sunday? Thanks!!

I think there is a Colorado specific magizine on wedding venues (you can find it at Target and King Soopers). I only looked at two venues and I think both are really only meant to hold 100-150 people with 150 people pushing the limits, so those would not be helpful suggestions.
If you wanted to go rustic you could see if anywhere in Estes Park has a non-Saturday availability (I can guarentee that all the Saturdays would be booked b/c it’s popular for weddings).

I’m a CO bride, too! Which venues are the ones you loved? That will help give me an idea of what you’re looking for… also, how much are you willing to spend on the room rental itself? Do you prefer that food and/or alcohol is included, or are you flexible?

@alibri: Try the manor house. A friend of mine got married their and it was gorgeous.

what cities have you looked at or willing to look in?

@alibri: We got married at the Evergreen Lake House. It was $330 for 5 hours, but we only had the ceremony there and it was a Thursday. You can also try The Medows at Marshdale.

We’ve been looking at more 125-150 people, so some of these might be a bit small for you, but here are some of the favorites I’ve found so far within about an hour of Denver:
Can use outside caterer:
– The Barn at Evergreen Memorial Park
– Chief Hosa Lodge in Genesee
– Colorado Mountain Ranch in Boulder
– D Barn in Longmont
– Deer Creek Valley Ranch in Bailey
– Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield
– Four Mile Historic Park in Denver
– Hudson Gardens in Littleton
– McC Ranch in Loveland (their “website” has zero info, but I read on some forum that the venue is crazy crazy crazy cheap.)
– Chautauqua Dining Hall in Boulder
– Pastures of Plenty in Boulder
– The Pines at Genesee in Golden
Best of luck!! Looking for wedding venues is my secret addiction….

One place I saw online was the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park. It’s beautiful inside and out.
