Has anyone decided on colors yet?
I was thinking a gold/yellow
and some shade of blue.
These necklace have inspired me.
I am getting married this June and we are doing green with accents of fuschia and orange. These pics are very similar to the flowers/color scheme we are using.
The blue and yellow look great together. What flowers would you use?
I love your colors! Mrs. Tiramisu had gorgeous blue blooms that you might want to check out for inspiration! We are using chocolate brown, blush pink, fuschia, apple green, ivory and gold. I think any color combo you love is a great choice
We are getting married this June and are doing Chocolate brown & Aqua. I love the colors you have in mind though!!
I really like the orange / fuschia ideas. Everyone's colors sound so pretty. I am stlll getting flower ideas together. We are having a night wedding, so it has to be a little formal and I would like it to be somewhat modern. I feel like so many of the yellow flowers i see on wedding websites are geared toward day weddings.
Picking colors is fun, but somewhat scary because once you commit it really determines the direction you go with so many other details.
@marylizbeth- It took me FOREVER to pick my colors. I think that may have been the hardest part of wedding planning for me! It is hard because there are so many different color combinations and they all (for the most part) look lovely in pictures. But it was fun. You still have a little bit of time but once you pick them you'll feel like you can start looking and picking out other stuff! I suggest just keep browsing online. I think after awhile you'll feel like your eyes keep drawing to certain colors! Good luck :)
We're doing blue and pink. The exact shades have yet to be determined, but I really like this idea.
I must have changed my colors 5 times.. including the girls dress colrs (originally they were blue with a champagne sash, but I changed them to a solid Euro Blue).. so I could use deep pink / fushia tulips .. to be honest catholicbride above has the colors to a "t" above
Pretty! I would never have thought blue and yellow! Mine are champagne and champagne pink/blush. I wanted light and romantic for an outdoor garden venue.
I'm glad to hear others are using chocolate brown! I love it, but when I said I wanted to use it for a summer wedding, I got some funny looks.
I'm also going with pink and green.
Also getting married June 2010 and thinking blue's and browns...we're considering an outdoor ceremony (maybe the beach) and want the environment to be complimentary to the colors
My FI will be wearing his mess dress AF uniform and I kind of planned the colors off of that. I figured we'd stick with the navy and to maximize the elegant/formal/military theme stick with a sharp white and silver accents. Maybe a little heavy for a June wedding, but it's at night, and I think it should be pretty!
I love the playfulness of the colors a lot of you girls have chosen! Very fitting for summer, I think :)
Picking colors has been so difficult for me!! I just can't decide.... I love green, but my fiance is not a fan. He has not so subtlely mentioned dark blue-green several times, but that's not quite what I had in mind.
Are any of you bees experiencing this with your fiances?
we are doing green, pink, gold and navy for our june wedding. mostly pink (maids dresses, bouquets, etc) - the green is reflected in our invitations, the landscape, our bouquets and rosemary topiaries at our reception. navy is in our groomsmen's ties, and gold accents from my dress, the maids shoes and little details at the reception.
@ catholicbride - our groomsmen are wearing the exact tie in your inspiration pic!!
For now my thoughts are deep red with accents of even deeper burgundy, wine/plum, bits of green, and some gold/sunflower - a rustic elegance, slightly vineyard inspired thing.
My fiance has made one or two comments but he honestly doesn't really care about the colors. He is giving me total freedom on things like colors and flowers but I know we need to do food and music (and we'll see what else) as a team!
Yeah, something tells me my fiance will speak up regarding the food and music, too!
I've always thought black and white as base colors (my man will be wearing a black 3-piece suit, and I figure the bridesmaids and groomsmen can all wear their own black dresses / suits) and have changed accent colors depending on the different venues we've been leaning towards. Now, we are about ready to sign with our venue. It's this beautiful art nouveau restaurant and I love it (www.restaurantletelegraphe.com). To go with the venue colors I think I will add a mint green and a bright pink as accent colors, but I'm not really sure how to work it all in...I do know my fiancé wants a pink tie. And I'd like to give my girls some colored accessories to jazz up their black dresses. What do you think of the color combo?
Miss Paris, the mint green & pink sound perfect for the Art Nouveau feel. I'm trying to incorporate some Art Nouveau aspects into my theme since my gown is in that style.
Your venue is fantastic, by the way!
I'm loving the teal and purple vibe right now. Although my wedding's in 2 months and I already chose mine, I'm completely in love with it! I'm thinking chic baby room next year? =]
am going with the dark purple/plum/eggplant and lime green with some cream/ivory. I wanted something bold and bright.
Im doing a chocolate brown and a teal/turquoise color. I always thought and wanted to do purple but when I was going through swatches at work I fell in love with the teal and decided to do that. Well have ivory as well. Not really doing blue flowers because the blues wont match well so Im doing alot of ivory and brown.
Oooh. I'm doing a crisp white with classic navy, with a (darker) grass green and a lemon yellow. Modern, casual, clean... I love it.
I love yellow and crisp white.. but I can't settle on my blue. we're having an evening wedding at a NYC venue that overlooks the brooklyn bridge... so we're trying to draw inspiration from the view
Maryelizabeth, I think that yellow, white, and a midnight blue would be beautiful for an evening wedding!
I'm getting married June 2010 and we decided on Navy Blue and Chartreause (bright green). I'll find a picture and then upload it later. Love all your ideas ladies :)
I see a lot of chocolate and blues these days. I really like the bold bright floral colors. i am totally obsessed with with pinks, purples and oranges. We are using a fuschia color and might do orange with it. ://www.advantagebridal.com/fuandorrigub.html
Found great ties at www.thetiebar.com for the men. That way the ribbons on my bridesmaid dresses can coordinate with their ties. Good luck ladies!
The yellow and navy looks great! I would have never have thought of that color combo. Like others, I'm looking into Pinks (light and bright), bright Orange and maybe some green with a champagne color to tie it all together. I've attached my inpiration pics!
Meggs, I am also a PINK AND GREEN bride!! I am so pumped to use beautiful flowers, fun decorations and have an overall fun and casual feel. Think limes, gerbera daisies, pink and green polka dots, fun pink drinks, and paper lanterns. that said, my dress and BM dresses are pretty fancy and I'm having regrets over my colors and theme. Do ya'll think I can do fun and casual with more formal dresses?
After changing our minds probably ten times, we've finally picked colors that we're really excited about. I've seen a bunch of our colors listed above, but in slightly different combinations. We're going with a dark peacock blue, bright yellow, and pink. It sounds like a lot, but I think it works...?
I too am doing chocolate, but with pink/fushia and cream...with a little green in the mix. I'm using peonies (since it is the season, right :) so that is my pink/fushia.
Boy my colors sound so plain compared to you all... I'm doing Cornflower Blue and white ..I didn't know there was a shade of blue called that , till i went to Davids bridal...Blues my color ..and well i figure since i'm wearing white ..well i wanted simplicity ,..my problem is i don't want the wedding to be overwhelmed with those 2 colors...so i'm thinking of doin different shades of Blue ..and throw in splashes of white ..
We're doing champagne (or gold if you prefer) and blue. We wanted a pop of color that stood out from our forest venue.
Phew, others will be using chocolate brown for a June wedding. I've changed my mind a few times now but I think I'm set on chocolate brown and gold (coincidentally my dress is a light gold). The other colour schemes I was looking at were sapphire blue with an accent colour or chartreuse with pink. Unfortunately my BMs will come in every size and skin tones so finding a colour that will work for everyone was difficult. Hence why I choose chocolate brown...it's a colour most people can pull off.

Hi Ladies - okay so here is the colour inspiration board I am using. If you haven't chosen your colours yet I suggest you use this website/blogspot for some ideas. She is fantastic with colour combinations for every colour imaginable.
Best of luck - I'm excited to start my decorating ideas :)
Our colors are tangerine & chocolate brown w/ pops of violet... our guys are wearing khaki suits w/ tangerine ties. It's an outdoor beach themed wedding, but not at the beach ![]()
