- Wedding: September 2010
I really want my wedding to be classy yet not boring. We are having a band and have some fun food options too. I have “kind of” settled on colors but have had a hard time committing. The wedding is now down to crunch time and I need to order the paper lanterns I am using for decoration inside dinner/dance reception tent (ceremony and cocktail reception being held at same location- golf course but inside clubhouse). and also need to go place final order for linen choices in the next couple of days.
So at this point I am using chocolate brown, ivory and gold. Our invites were simple ivory with gold interlocking hearts at top and gold border. I want a touch of color and lined my invite envelopes with some fun printed papers in those colors plus some blue and green mixed in some to make more unique. My maid of honor’s dress is chocolate satin and flower girl’s dress is ivory(same as mine) with chocolate sash). Only other female in bridal party is my 13 yr old step-daughter “to be”. Could her dress be blue or green and have chocolate accent? I don’t expect to use blue in flowers but perhaps use blue/green as lantern colors. My centerpieces will have some tall vases with ivory flowers and tall branches, lower ones will be filled with coffee beans and some kind of flower. thought we could introduce the blue/green in the “lounge area” as well in the tent. going with round gold charger plates on tables and will either use gold chiavari chairs or white/chocolate chair covers for banquet chairs.
Am I trying to use too many different colors? Will this be tacky?
