My fiance and I are in the process of choosing colors for our wedding. We’re set on the bridesmaids wearing black, and he loves silver to go with it, but I’d like another bright accent color. At first, we thought about purple, but I’m afraid it’s going to look too dark since we’re getting married in the summer. We’ve gone from purple, to purple and blue, to blue, to red (for about 2 seconds), back to purple. We are very against using pink. Does anyone have an idea of what we could pair with black (or black/silver) that won’t make our wedding seem too dark for the summer? Should we stick with black and just add a bunch of bright colors with the flowers or other decor? Any inspiration boards you could share would be great!!

Oh gosh, you can pretty much use any color you want! What time is your wedding? If it’s in the evening, you can certainly use darker colors I think.

We are doing the same sort of basic color scheme. BM’s are wearing black dresses with pewter sashes, GM are wearing charcoal suits with pewter vests and ties (white shirts) and we are doing peacock colors for our flowers. Blues, greens, and purples and I’m getting married 8/3/12 🙂

What about turquoise? That might make it more summer-y.

The wedding is in the evening so I never thought of the fact that darker colors might work for that time of day. I like the idea of blue, purple, and green without actually using peacock feathers. Torquoise was also an option we have thrown around. Thanks for the input!
