This was probably my hardest task as well! The FI didn’t care and there are so many pretty color schemes out there! You’re probably like me and had a million different ideas. You see so many different color schemes online and go "OO I like that… oh wait this is pretty…"

My advice: Pick a color that keeps standing out to you, or a color or two among your top choices… and DON’T TURN BACK!! You’ll be so happy that you can move on and start planning that you won’t even think about it anymore! Regardless of what you pick, almost any and every color can make your wedding beautiful!

Good luck!

I went through ever color post on http://snippetandink.blogspot.com/ until we decided on ours. They have great inspiration boards.

If you know you want white, maybe you can play up on that. Look how gorgeous this white and cream inspiration board is:

Do you want cool white or warmer cream or ivory? Start there and then narrow down your colors to cool or warm, after that decide if you want multiple colors or just one pop of color with the white. It can be really clean and sophisticated to have all white and one standout color. I keep thinking of the Celebrity Wedding show where the couple copied Christina Aguilera’s wedding with all white and cool blues. It looked awesome!

Also, you could start by looking at flowers and if you decide the flowers you want to use, you can base your colors on that.

When is your wedding? That can clue you in to what colors work. Nice fall colors -red, orange, golden, purples. Winter-deep jewel tones. Spring, summer-cheery, bright, maybe pastels.

Spend a couple hours looking at the inspiration boards on snippetandink.blogspot.com. I saw a board with similar colors that I ended up choosing, so it was helpful to see how they looked together. It took me a month or so to make up my mind, but I haven’t waivered on the choice since.

I just checked your profile and you’re thinking of spring 2010 right? Well I know this isn’t what you want to hear but don’t decide now!! I’ve been engaged for 9 months and have 11 more to go and I’m glad I am just working on my colors now. If I were you I would experiment with all different color board, try http://www.polyvore.com … I just did a board there last night and it was so fun! and you can mix and match all the colors you want. Take your time and try hard not to feel like you have to make any decisions right now, enjoy the fun of changing your mind every other minute!

I agree with SoonToBeKGC start with your flowers. Do you have any idea what flowers you want for your bouquets? I found a picture of a burgundy/orange mini calla bouquet that became the inspiration for my entire wedding. Try that route and you may find your inspiration. Good luck to you.

ooooOOOOOoooooooooo… that white and cream inspiration board is lovely . I think it’s important to know the venue before you choose your colours. But thats just me. With a base colour of white you can do anything from rich jewel tones to pastels , as the girls have said before. Are you looking for a more casual event or a black tie event?

What colours does the BM dress come in? btw
