I had a colpo and cryo procedure about 6 months before we started TTC, and got pregnant on our third cycle trying!  Talk to your doctor about your concerns, my doctor said the LEEP has the potential to remove more of your cervix than a cryo procedure, so she does cryo first.

@Miss_Magoo82:  Better to have whatever is causing you to need a colpo taken care of before getting pregnant because once you’re pregnant, treatment options are very limited and sometimes nonexistant.  I just had a LEEP done in May and at my follow up appointment today the doctor said my cervix is fully healed and ready to go whenever I am ready to TTC.  Also, I did extensive research on the LEEP procedure and came up with a less than 1% chance that the procedure will affect your future chances to conceive (I confirmed the studies I found with my doctor.)  IMO it’s best to take care of your health before TTC so your baby has a healthy mommy.

@Miss_Magoo82:  I actually got one done last month, my doctor said I didn’t need a biopsy. I just found out this month that I’m pregnant! so I don’t think is a big deal. If I was you I would just rather get it done and over with, specialy if you been wating 3 months for your appointment.

@Miss_Magoo82:  I just had a colposcopy today. Am actually laying in bed recovering right now. The dr had to take two biopsies. The pieces they take are teeny tiny and they say have no affect on fertility whatsoever. In fact, I believe I read that they can actually take a biopsy while pregnant. As for the leep, that’s a little more involved but I don’t think that affects fertility either- although I don’t think they do that one when you are pregnant. Do you need a colposcopy because of an abnormal pap? Have you had a colposcopy before? If you want to pm me I can tell you more about it, today was unfortunately my 3rd lol

I had a LEEP a little over a year ago and got pregnant without even TTC (was on BC).  I also know lots of friends & family that had to have one and went on to have kids. I think it’s best to take care of yourself.  My doctor told me mom’s health is the most important thing, if I’m not healthy the baby won’t be healthy. If you do need a LEEP it may push your TTC date back a little because you can’t have sex for a couple of months afterwards or until your cervix heals.

I had a colposcopy a couple of weeks ago, and they had to take a couple of biopsies.  When I asked my doctor about TTC, and whether or not it will be affected, she didn’t seem concerned.  She even mentioned that alot of times, with vaginal deliveries, the problem areas clear themselves up.  HTH!
