I actually tried on the Jenny Eden, and the Esme, and both were stunning, but just not the one (not to mention being out of my budget.

Nicole Miller also has some great sheaths that I found super flattering.

I am totally in love with my Sarah Seven Blythe. Never in a million years did I think strapless or lace, but…here I am!

If I had the body, dress 1 would be my idea of perfection. I truly envy anyone who can pull them off. Simply perfect, IMO.

I have too many curves to make it look good, but I think sheaths are gorgeous!

I think they only look good on (very) slim women who aren’t curvy. I’m waiting to see one on a different bodytype and prove me wrong! They are gorgeous!

@aekc:  In my case, I’m not sure “daring” is the right word – more like “denial”  LOL  I’m a definite pear shape!!

Here’s my sheath dress! Martina Liana #423.

@gelaine22:  I’m slim with minimal curves but they don’t look good on me either. I think they would suit someone who is substantially taller than me (I’m 5’5).

So make that slim, minimal curves, and at least 5’10.

@gelaine22:  I wish I had taken photos of the JPs. I’m 5’3″ (on a good day) and pretty athletically built. I always say I have the hips of a 12 year old boy, but I definitely have a butt, and I thought they were quite flattering on me! Maybe I fit the bill of what you were talking about, but I don’t ever really consider myself slim. Just compact! 🙂

@wideeyes:  Thank you so much! I never feel like the photos I got that day really do it justice!

@letigre:  That’s my height and body type, and I went with a sheath.

I always wanted something low-key and not too fussy / frilly / poofy.  I don’t have the best full-body pics uploaded, but here are a couple.

I love the Jenny Packham sheaths and totally thought that’s what I would wear (either Esme or Dentelle/Aspen) or similar gowns by Sarah Seven (Practically Perfect is sheath-eth, as was Swell). But in the end, I looked very short and square in sheaths and instead got a tulle A-line with a natural waist.
