The vendor I have had the most trouble finding is a florist. I keep flirting with the idea of DIY, but get freaked out – and friends and family have laughed at the very suggestion – I am NOT a go with the flow, crafty person who likes taking care of things at the last minute…like flowers.
So after looking at FIVE florists and getting quotes ranging from $4500 to $1500, we have come up with a proposed solution – combining two florists and DIYing non-floral centerpieces for 3/4 of the tables. This would put our flower budget at $800, including tax and for one florist to deliver to the ceremony site.
Question #1: Is it ok to combine florists? If you have experiences with this, good or bad, please share!
Question #2 (the wrinkle in the plan) : Under this delightfully cheap plan, one florist would deliver our alter arrangements and we would pick up our bouts, bouquets, corsages and centerpieces from the other the morning of – however, this place is 50 minutes from our venues (this is because the vendor is in our hometown and we are getting married and hour south). We have people willing to do the pick-up, but are we nuts? Is it worth it?
