Honestly if I were you I wouldn't invest any money in it. You won't be getting any return unless they reduce your rent. And you could find an amazing house a month later. It doesn't make fiscal sense for you to improve their investment. Unless it's a present for letting you live there rent-free.
@moderndaisy-his aunt and uncle are willing to pay for the improvements. I just want to be budget friendly.
I'm a HGTV fanatic. I get so many ideas!! Also Real Simple magazine is good. And I'm sure they have a website.
Ah! Very nice of them. Well, I don't really know a lot of websites, but I would start with HGTV. Green is always more expensive so be selective about what you want to be green.

My fiance and I live separately and have had a difficult time deciding where we were going to live after we are married. Well, we made a decision to live in his condo (which he rents from his aunt and uncle) so that we are not locked into a lease if we find a house we would like to purchase.
Fiance's aunt and uncle are willing to let us update the kitchen and bathroom. What are some design blogs or sites you have used for this? Both rooms are super small, basically a very basic bathroom and a small galley kitchen.
What products you would recommend for green/sustainable design that is also budget friendly? Since we are not living here permanently, we'd like to not invest too much money into it.
