Alright, skipping a long story, we’re getting married at the court house next week even though we’re having the bigger wedding in September with family. I have a white cotton dress I bought a couple years ago to wear casually but I just wasn’t feeling it for a court house wedding. Wasn’t able to find a white cocktail dress this last weekend and so I’ve raided my closet. White dress pants, White 3/4 sleeve jacket from white house black market (this season in case you want to see better pics), over a white tank. Gold sequin pumps that are also from white house but discontinued recently. I want to look chic and feminine. But I don’t want to look like an 80s lipstick lesbian. (Note- that’s not meant offensively, I promise. But I’d rather look like a lipstick lesbian for my 2nd wedding when my partner is a woman ).
I’m very fashionably stunted and I am the worst when it comes to coming up with outfits, so I need the help of all you fashionista bees out there. I thought the shoes were a great bling touch but I do have other heels if you don’t like them. Let me know what you think. Be bluntly honest if you have to. Thanks! 🙂
Now for the pics:
Posing so you can see the heels on. OH OH OH!!! IGNORE THE WRINKLES! I promise I’ll iron everything. 🙂
Close-up of the top half. May not be wearing that particular necklace.
And the finale- Shoes!!! 🙂

I think you look cute – sexy even! – but it doesn’t strike me as bridal. I love the cut of the jacket!!!
I know my Darling Husband would be disappointed if I wore pants to our wedding (even if it was a courthouse) – but, that’s just him. If you think your Fiance won’t care – then, work it! 🙂

I love your outfit! I think it is lovely for the courthouse. Very polished.

I love it!! Kind of hard to see any way you might be stunted in terms of fashion, I think this rocks. (And, because I thought the ’80s lipstick lesbian thing was hilarious, don’t worry. Pretty much everyone was doing something scary in the ’80s, and lesbians no less so than anyone else!)

I think it’s perfect for a courthouse wedding.

I like it!
Plus, this way if you are wearing a dress to the wedding in september, there won’t be any comparison to what you wear at the court house- two completely different looks, for two different occasions.

@oracle: I was worried about the bridal part. We’re getting married due to some unique circumstances so we’re kinda considering this an administrative formality and the September wedding as our real wedding. But the girly part of me was worried it wouldn’t look “bridal.” My Fiance is a little like your Darling Husband but I’m hoping he’ll be cool with this.
@SillyStacey: Thanks! 🙂
@TankGirl: I luck out sometimes. 🙂

@MrsJazzy: Yeah, you make a good point. The dress is very bridal, romantic, lacy. No comparison at all. We’re basically getting hitched and jumping in the car to go get dinner in Philly. Low key and not an official celebration.

It’s a very classy, sexy and powerful looking outfit. Go for it!

ooooh. It’s almost breaking even.
To the ladies voting ‘no’ :
What made you say no? Was it the whole outfit? A particular part? Not feminine enough? Tacky? Personal taste? Seriously, any opinion, positive or negative at this point, will be very helpful. 🙂

I wish I could go closet-fishing and look that good for my wedding!
