I went with lower heels. I love to rock some 4"+ heels, but my wedding heels are less than 3". It was my compromise.
I DIDNT VOTE BECAUSE I WILL BE USING BOTH... HEELS AND WHEN I GET TIRED I WILL PUT ON MY CUTE FLATS
Two pairs for me! Heels for the ceremony and early part of reception and then changing into more comfortable/smaller heels for dancing the night away. :)
I am doing some really cute strappy heels. Here they are

Can't you just change into flats for the reception?
I am doing two pairs, also. I'm super short so for the ceremony and the first part of the reception, I'm wearing 4" heels. Then for dancing, I'll be changing into a more comfy pair of shoes.
Choose both - - wear heels for the ceremony and as long as you can handle them throughout the reception. Once you feel your feet have had enough - change into flats, easy peasy
My only bit of advice is this - - if you're going to purchase new heels to wear for your special day, wear them around the house while doing chores. No joke, doing chores will let you know how your feet will feel while walking around visiting with guests, etc.....
I have some very low heel shoes to wear for the wedding... but if they hurt I have a pair of white rainbow sandals to change in to. :)
For those of you switching into flats, I have a question...
When you had your dress altered did you bring both pairs of shoes? Also, did you have them hem the dress to your height when wearing the heels or the flats?
Everytime I see those Vivenne Westwoods my heart races - lucky girl, they are so offbeat and quirky - :)
Go with Angela Nuran shoes. They are heels that are super comfortable. Check them out!
I'm wearing 2.5" Badgley Mischka heels-- they're comfy AND cute. :)

ill be wearing stilettos for the ceremony and prolly change into flats at the reception
I'm doing comfy flats because of my foot size. I have large feet for a woman, so heels are super hard to find in the right size. I don't want to be taller than FI since we're only about 2" apart in height, so just ballet flats most likely.
My hubby loves me in heels so I wore a pair of heels for the ceremony and most of the pictures but when that was over I brought out my Wonder Woman flip-flops. I only bought them because they went with the Superman themed things we were doing for the wedding. They were very comfy though.
Comfy heels! Check out Born and J41 for wedges, or some of the high end brands for dress shoes. Those Angela Nuran shoes look awesome. But, in the end do what makes you happy.
I am wearing heels (so I don't have to have my dress shortened) because they help decrease our height difference and make me feel more formal. I will have flip flops on hand for the reception (I will have my reception dress shortened to reflect bare feet).
I have two pairs of heels for the wedding. I will be wearing the 4 inch ones for pictures and the ceremony, and changing into 3 inch ones during the reception. I know it sounds kind of ridiculous but the 3 inch heels are actually pretty comfortable compared to my 4 inchers!
I'm wearing 3 inch heels for the ceremony and pictures and then changing into flats for the reception (for comfort but also because our reception is outside and I don't want to sink into the ground!). My dress is actually the perfect length with the heels, so I am not having it hemmed at all.

I wonder the same thing! I'm hoping to have cute & comfy heels! I'm probably wearing 3"+ so changing into flats would mean my dress would be dragging on the floor!
Seriously if you want comfy heels you have to go try on Angela Nuran. I fell in love the minute I touched them. The owner and her rep are sooo sweet and help in any way they can. I didnt have a retailer that close to me so I ordered on advantagebridal.com. The 2.5 heels are like walking in sneakers and the 3.5 heels are still real real comfy. Thats what I bought.
I wore heels for as long as I could and finally slipped into a pair of white leather ballet flats around 10 pm....it felt great!
I'm totally wearing heels that are going to wreck my feet, but they're so cute! And I'm known for wearing heels so I can't not wear them. The funny thing is, my friends have no idea heels kill me, and I wear flats all day, everyday, and if we're going out, I wear flats until we get to the location.
I'm wearing heels for as long as I can stand it, and then switching to flip flops with a wedge heel.
Yes, I know they won't be pretty, and my MOH hates the sight of 'em, but it'll keep the hem of my dress off of the ground while letting my poor feet have a vacation on some soft foam-ness.
If you can afford it, you might want to look for some high quality heels. I say this all the time (everyone's probably sick of it!) but I have a 4 1/2" pair of Manolo d'orsays that are hands down my most comfortable evening shoes. They're heavenly! I bought them off Ebay, too, so they were only about $200. Well worth the money, because I wear them anywhere and everywhere I can get away with it.
I am going to get some comfy heels. Hey Lady shoes are supposed to be comfortable and made for brides to dance the night away in.

My FH likes the fact that I'm short(er), so I'm wearing a pair of comfy 1" slides. I found them, pre-broken in, at Value Village for $3!!

I'm having a huge dilemma. Most heels are not comfortable to me, especially for long periods of time! Yet, my fiance is 6'9" and LOVES girls in heels. (I'm only 5'4"). I think I'd be way more comfortable in flats, but then I think a pair of cute heels may be worth the discomfort. What are your plans for shoes?
