I’m going to Europe this summer and am in desperate need of comfortable shoes! I don’t want to spend a ton of money and was wondering what you ladies wear when you know you’ll be doing a ton of walking? I am pretty sure I don’t own a single pair of comforable shoes. I’m looking to buy some black flats and maybe some cute sneakers. Any suggestions?

I always wear flip flops but in Europe you’ll need to wash your feet by the time you get back to the hotel, trust me. Cute flats are a good idea too. No one there wears sneakers, so you’ll be a definite “tourist” if you wear them, although it’s up to you how much you care about that. I still wore mine 😉

Be careful with flats that don’t have any support in the bottom. They’re comfortable in the store, but they’re murder after a few hours of walking.
My favorite brand for flats is Kensie Girl shoes. They’re really cute, super comfy and you can find them on sale for around $25

I bought a pair of Clarks… we’re leaving for London this Friday. I got these: http://www.6pm.com/clarks-un-sage-cafe-brown-leather
They’re not the cutest ones in the world (though I think they’re nicer than they look in photos) but OH… MY… GAWD… They are the single comfiest things I’ve ever worn!
I recommend any of the “Unstructured” ones… they all have names that start with Un. (They have amazing comfy soles and are designed for if you’re doing a lot of walking.) Here’s a cute pair of black quasi flats: http://www.6pm.com/clarks-un-brew-black-leather-suede
Or these cute sneakers, that don’t scream American: http://www.6pm.com/clarks-un-durga-dark-olive-leather

I bought a pair of Softshoes from Rack Room Shoes before my last trip to China and they’re my favorite. Definitely not the most stylish pair of shoes but a nice versatile mary-jane.

Vibram Five Fingers for the win!

Try Indigo by Clarks, they are a bit more stylish. Sofft brand does great comfort heeled sandals – they are getting more stylish every season. You could also try wedge espadrilles as they don’t scream “U.S.A” 🙂
Bjorn sandals can be really really ugly but Nordstroms tends to get the fashion colors.
Kork-Ease Ava is what I wore all summer when I lived in London. Here are the latest colors, they used to do red and green but I can’t find any:
Lastly, dansko clog sandals can really scream tourist but I seriously see women all the time. The style called “sissy” is one a friend of mine can wear who has chronic back problems. She teaches high school in NYC and stands all day – she is a true believer.
