Well I’ve never been pregnant, so I can’t really help out there.

This is my 6th month off of the pill, and my periods are still all over the place (though I didn’t have a regular cycle before I got on the pill).

I do have IBS, and we are currently TTC. I don’t take any prescription meds for it, only pepto or whatever when it’s acting up. I’m interested to see if anyone has some insight.

@lisha_1988:  The hormonal changes were mild for me. I don’t have IBS though… I dk what to tell you other than that! There were definitely significantly more hormonal changes when I started doing fertility meds. Acne, mood swings, etc.

@lisha_1988:  hi fellow Aussie bee ๐Ÿ™‚

I don’t have IBS but my hubby does – he’s following the FODMAP diet (developed here in Aus) and has had really good results – still the occassional flare-up, but more good days than bad now, which is a huge improvement. Highly recommend researching it and seeing if it’s for you. My Naturpath wanted us both to get our allergies under control (asthma, hayfever and skin for me, stomach for him) before getting pregnant, for the good of our future baby – might be worth seeing someone?

I went off BCP over 2 years ago, and my cycles still aren’t regular, but I think i’m the exception to the rule. I loved going off it though – higher sex drive and overall just happier (although definitely more moody, so sometimes grumpier!! haha)

All the best ๐Ÿ™‚

Can’t help with the IBS issue, but coming off the pill was a pretty painless transition for me. My periods regulated quickly and were actually shorter and lighter than on the pill – though this does not seem to be the norm.

The only hormonal issue I had was my acne coming back.

Pregnant and coming off the pill wasn’t a terrible transition.

IBS…has actually gotten better since I’ve been pregnant.

I just had my first complete cycle after coming off the pill (Just got my period today!), after being on HBC for 8 years.

So far, so good! My cycle was 26 days. I haven’t noticed any strange hormonal issues. Cramps are worse than I remember, but other than that I seem fine and pretty normal!

This will be the first cycle where I’ll actually track my fertility (BBT and CM and such), so I’ll see how that goes!

I have IBS and am 13w pregnant. For me, pregnancy made the constipation worse for awhile. I started drinking “plum smart” juice and that REALLY helped. But just make sure you drink LOTS of fluids.

I took hormonal bc for about 10 years, and my face cleared up a lot once I was off the pill. That was the biggest hormonal change. (Pregnancy has broken it out again, but this time if’s for the best cause!)

I had regular cycles when I came off the pill, but my body would randomly throw a really long one in there sometimes.
The cycle that I conceived during was a long one, I apparently did not ovulate when I thought I did (although it doesn’t really matter when the end result is the same!)Laughing
