My FI and I will be honeymooning in your beautiful city. We're staying in a downtown hotel and will not be renting a car. I'd like to know your recommendations for fun things to do and places to eat during our stay - preferably in walking distance.
The restaurants in Montreal are almost all amazing....there is a wonderful, small Italian restaurant in Vieux Montreal just down the road from the Notre Dame Cathedral that I would highly recommend (sorry, I can't remember the name...we just happened upon it). For more casual dining, the Bar-B-Barn (Chicken and Ribs) and 3 Amigos (Mexican) are also very good and are all downtown.
For activities: there is lots of shopping, and cathedrals, the Olympic Stadium, the Botanical Gardens, La Ronde, Comedy shows, The BioDome....so much to do.
When are you honeymooning? There's a jazz fest, a comedy fest and Indy car weekend that all happen during different parts of the summer. I'm sure the website posted earlier has all this information though.
If you want to immerse yourselves in french-canadian culture check out Les Deux Pierrots, a fantastic resto-bar right around the corner from your hotel.
You've put yourselves in a good place. The old city comes to life each evening with buskers and artisans and has such a nice romantic air that walking hand in hand through cobble-stoned streets and squares is sometimes all that is needed.
Thank you, ladies! It looks like we'll be in a great spot for food and activities. We will be in your city from June 15th to June 23rd. I think we miss the Jazz festival by a few days, awhalley. I'm not worried as I see we will have plenty to do while we're there!
My FI is super interested in visiting the BioDome and the Labrynth. Are those places worth seeing?
I have printed out this topic to take with me to Montreal. Thank you for all of your suggestions. If you can think of any other recommendations, please let me know!
