I know this is very specific, but has anyone had their reception here, been to a wedding here, or have any experience with this place or the area?
I found it it online and fell in love with it, it’s reasonably priced and the event coordinator has been pleasant to deal with so far. I live about 4 hours away from Claremont though and before I make the trip up to NH I was wondering if any other bees had any comments.

Hi @dvandertuck: saw your post… and thought I’d offer up the following…
Do a GOOGLE if you haven’t already to see if you can find any online Reviews…
– Common Man Inn Reviews –
Google, TripAdvisor, Yelp, Angies List… that sort of thing are all good resources.
Hope this helps,

@dvandertuck: I actually considered the Common Man in Plymouth because they actually had a greenhouse where you could have the ceremony (or the reception too if you wanted) or a more traditional ballroom in a really rustic venue. The prices were phenomenal and when I was trying to decide on a venue, they were really helpful. We decided on a venue in Vermont that was closer to my FI’s family (and more what I had originally envisioned) but in my dealings with CM at least in Plymouth they were really really nice!
ETA: I’ve heard that Claremont’s is very nice on the inside…but the view outside is not much to be desired– not sure if you’ve ever been to Claremont, it’s sort of post-industrial….
ETA2: I live about 45 minutes north of Claremont so if you’re looking for other ideas for venues in the area, PM me!

@dvandertuck: Sorry, no. However, I moved this to the New Hampshire boards so maybe a local Bee may be able to help you!

@dvandertuck: i just randomly found this post and I’m glad I did! Claremont is one of my closest friends hometown and she’s spoken very highly of this hotel. She recommends it to anyone that visits up there. I can find out if anyone she knows from home (her whole family still lives there) has gone to any events there. I hear the rooms are absolutely beautiful there

Thanks everyone, I have done google, trip advisor etc searches but most reviews are from guests at the inn, not guests to an event.
The true reason we are considering it is because of its location, 20min from Harpoon brewery in Windsor, VT – we had our first date at Harpoon Fest, Boston & got engaged there 2 years later after a brewery tour. We wanted to have our reception at the Boston Brewery but they wanted a $12k room fee!!! So now we are considering a wintery destination wedding to that area of VT/NH. To be able to include Harpoon as part of our story. Any other venue suggestions would be welcomed since I’ve never been to the area.

@dvandertuck: My cousin got married there and it was absolutely gorgeous! So pretty they barely had to decorate. And the food was really good too. It was awesome!
Also, as for the “industrial” comment- I suppose so, I just thought they were really cool old historic mill buildings. And there is a beautiful outdoor ceremony area- we walked over a bridge near a waterfall to get to it. Gorgeous. Only thing is, we couldn’t hear the ceremony over the waterfall noise, sitting in the last row, but everything was so beautiful we didn’t care.
