Need some advice bees, I have a wedding photographer but I have had doubts from the beginning. Their rates were great, the package seemed good but their work seemed so so. I had no idea what type of wedding photography was available until later in wedding planning, so I booked with photographer one. Then I casually decided to look into other photographers and BAM found something amazing with photographer two but of course it's more expensive (it's not horrible like $300 plus the $100 we will lose with the deposit on the first photographer). I'm not sure what to do. I'm going to leave it to the bees to take a look at both photographers work and tell me what you think.

I think the 2nd photographer looks a lot better honestly.  They seem much more professional to me.  Good luck!

Definitely the second one - I think it's very worth it to switch.

I like the second photographer.  The post production in the first photographer seems a little basic.

That being said, I would ask the second photographer to show me their work from one wedding.  It's easy to say their portfolio is better but that's because they've pulled the best pictures from multiple events.

I would go with the second one!  I personally love the photojournalistic style much better anyway.

The only thing I worried about was the second photog doesn't have many candid shots on her website, but I think we're going to meet with her and see if she can show us some more shots. If those are as good as her website then we'll probably swtich to her! Thanks bees!

I like the 2nd one as well...and yes absolutely meet with her. Almost all photograhers are really great at being able to sit down and talk to you to get a feel of what you want and what your style is...and is you want a few more candid shots, I bet she can :)

    Good luck!

The first photographer looks as though a relative took the pictures on the sidelines.  The second photographer has a better feel of angles and experience.  Good luck with your decision!

It's really hard to decide because their websites are so different! You get to see all the pictures from the wedding from Photog 1, but only a they best of the best of the pictures from all the weddings of Photog 2. I think you need to see a couple books of proofs from start to finish from Photog 2 before you make your decision. I did see a couple of really good shots from Photog 1 (a couple of detail shots and some with bokeh). I'm pretty sure Photog 1 could pay someone to make his website look just as good as Photog 2's and he could pick out just as many great photos.

I'd meet with them both again and discuss exactly what style you want. Personality of the photographer is also very important.

I didn't even look at the links, I just want to say - BE HAPPY with your photographer! It's soooo important! That's the biggest mistake I made, I used someone I had doubts about b/c they were less expensive and I regret it SO much! My pictures aren't even printable. :(

Just do whatever you have to do to make sure that you'll be happy with those photos! They can't be done over!
