So sorry to hear this. :( At least he gave you time to find a new photog, but that's an unbeatable rate for a good photographer.

That stinks! I hope he gave you all your money back. Did he suggest any other photographers with his same style you can contact? Did he sign a contract with you?
On no!! What does your contract with him say? Is he going to provide his replacement or do you have to find one on your own?
aW that is SUCH a bummer. We just moved our date back because we couldn't get the photographer we wanted AND my best friend couldn't come the week before thanks to finals. Good luck finding a new one! Austin has so many amazingly talented people that I'm sure you'll be able to find someone.
Thanks for the support ladies! I finally mustered up some energy to start looking and I have found some great photographers in the same price range :)
sorry to hear he had to cancel! You sound like a very nice bride and i am sure it was hard for him to have to cancel. I wish you the best of luck in your search!
Boo.. that is a great deal for the photographer. Can you ask him to help you find a replacement?
I'm really shocked his contract doesn't stipulate providing a replacement. Make sure your next contract says that. Otherwise, that contract only protects him, not you, from cancellation.

At the very least he gave you enough lead time to find another talented photog.
My good friend had a photographer (referred by a friend) who showed up for the wedding, photographed all day, contacted her the week after her wedding regarding dates when she could expect her pictures, then DISAPPEARED!!!! She could never track him down. And she has NO wedding pictures. At ALL!!! Can you imagine!?!?!? I always think of her when I'm feeling down about my wedding vendors...
Oh gosh, I'm so sorry! Does he have anyone to fill in for him? My contract states that if for some reason the photographer can't make it, he'll provide a substitute and nothing in the package changes. The only issue is that you don't know how they take pictures. But, I've been told that a lot of being a good photographer has to do with the editing process, after the pictures have been taken. Not sure how true that is. Anyway, I'd start looking for another photographer, maybe you'll find someone you like even more!
Yeah, that contract clause about replacements is essential! Wow! Did you have a contract?

So I've had my photographer booked since October and he bailed on me last night :(:(:( Says he has to go out of the country in the summer to help his Dad. My wedding is July 24th and he was giving us almost 12 hours for 1500 with two photographers... My fiancee and I were soo excited about him because we love his work; needless to say it ruined my day yesterday.
*sigh* Just needed to let that out.. haven't even told anyone besides the FI because I'm so bummed :(
