SO wants a laptop for Christmas, and I have been researching. Now more confused than ever. He wants it mainly to back up music he’s bought onto an external hard drive, and also wants it to be able to get on the internet. I bought a laptop for myself a few years ago, for purely the same reason, and walked out with a $2000 laptop (OMG!). I use it mainly to download things off iTunes, backing up photos onto a hard drive, and watch DVD’s on it – it’s great for that, it has a big screen, but overall not worth the price I paid for it for what I use it for.
So I’ve come across this computer:
It’s a HP, like mine, with a smaller screen. This price is great too – SO is not into computers all that much, he knows how to use mine to burn music from iTunes – he basically knows how to use it for what he needs it for. He’s aware that the internet is a separate thing that doesn’t come in any computer!
I’m wondering what bees with a bit of experience in this area think? Is this a good price, and more importantly, will it easily do the things he needs it to do? He said he doesn’t want to have to ‘wait 4 years to make a CD’. Any help would be appreciated!
