I’m just wondering if this is normal or if I should worry.
I bought a sample dress in January and it is paid in full. When I was cashing out the guy who rang it in asked if I wanted to store my dress there and since we live in a condo I thought this was a good idea then there was no way my finace would see it. I also asked when I should come in for alterations, he said end of October and at this time my wedding was suppose to January 31st, 2014. The wedding is now February 8th.
Fast Forward to a couple weeks ago when I called and asked to make an appointment to come in for alterations. I was told I don’t need to come in until 3 weeks before the wedding. I knew the whole process would likely be different than if I ordered it but I figured I should have at least 2 fittings. I know I need alterations because the dress is too long.
I should come in for the first one so they know where to alter it and a second time so they make sure their work is right. But there has to be time to fix it-just in case.
Now another concern I have is that I am not getting married in the province I live in but back in my home province. So all of this needs to ready for Jan. 31 when I fly out.
If you have bought a sample dress, what was your experience with alterations? Should I be concerned? and if I should be should I go pick up my dress and take it somewhere else, or insist that they do the alterations sooner rather than later.
