I completely understand this.  We’re dealing with the same thing.  Right after we sent the invitations we received 20 RSVP’s back saying yes and now it seems like we go days without getitng anything and when we do get one it’s a no.  I’m hoping that they’ll pick up or a few people will be late because we’re still waiting on about 60 responses.  Ours are due in a week.

This sounds terrible, but if I am RSVP’ing to a wedding I usually do it at the last minute in case something comes up and I have to cancel. I bet many of your guests are in the same boat. I wouldn’t worry until it’s a week or so after the 16th (many people use that date as the mail-by date).

@kerensa: I always thought that the Please Reply By Date WAS the last mail by date. I thought that brides took into account at least 5 days for the mail after that.

Anyway, I’m still trying to decide on a venue and a date and right now I think that only 40%-50% of the people that we will invite will attend. Honestly, as long as it’s the people that I really want there I don’t care if it’s a small percentage, but we do have to meet a catering budget, so I guess whoever shows up will have lots of awesome food and drinks.

I completely understand…

We fell in love with a venue that is quite a drive for most of my family…1 hour  and 40 minutes…

We have a block of hotel rooms but I’m starting to think most people are just seeing it as a hassle now…

I keep telling myself that our closest friends and family will come hell or highwater..(or a long drive)…and that is all that matters
