Our invitations are concert tickets, they have the typical concert type info – date, time, location, ticket “price”, General Admission, etc. We want to include something that addresses everything else, like a map, parking, some other key things. I’ve made 3 attempts and all I can create is a plain old Word doc that looks like it came out of an HR department. I can’t visualize how to dress it up to match our music/rock and roll themed wedding (that won’t cost me a fortune). Any ideas?

How about a vip backstage pass?

We do want lanyards/VIP passes actually! One each for: bride, groom, Maid/Matron of Honor, Bridesmaid or Best Man, MOB & FOB, MOG & FOG, then “Family”, “Friend”, and “Musician”. I’m researching getting my own laminator so I can do them myself. Those will be handed out upon arrival, almost like escort cards.
But for the invites/tickets, I want to include something with more info about the details. Beau thinks that everyone will be driven to our website, where all that info is, since the site is printed on the ticket. I just think we should provide all information in one package.

This might require too much work, but maybe you can make it look like a small concert poster? Print it on a regular sized sheet of paper and then fold it to fit in the envelope.

@gertrude: Why don’t you include another heavy paper with the invite and title it “Set List” so you can include any additional info you’d like your guests to know before arriving. A cute idea we did for our invites is to include a “We’re taking your requests” on the back of the RSVP for your guests to send in their song requests. Especially with your concert theme idea, it would be really cool. Plus it’s kind of fun getting those RSVP’s and seeing which songs your guests request. Another idea is to create a website and include the website on your concert ticket where guests can get any additional info. We did this for our wedding and it worked for most guests, but you’ll always have several that want everyone in paper.
