CONFESSION: Is anyone else completely ignorant about the details of their ring?

I was clueless about my ring other than the basic (Brand, cut) but had no clue my carats or clarity or the price. Except that the first 2 digits were higher than his age.

But then going through our papers I found the Tiffany’s folder and found everything out.

I didn’t mind not knowing though, although people thought it was weird I didn’t know my center carat.

@Lana_Rose:  I know the price and total carat size, and I could find the color and quality but don’t know them off the top of my head.  *shrug*

Hahaha, definitely me! My center stone is an heirloom, so we have no clue what size it is, color, clarity, etc.

We picked the setting together from a family friend who makes jewelry, so while I know some basics–like it’s rose gold, it is 0.5 TCW, I have no clue what kind of pave it is, or what the style is called, or anything.

I do know how much it cost because we share finances!

@Lana_Rose:  Yep.  Right here.  Mr VB has already made it VERY clear that he’s doing the ring shopping and I won’t get any part of it.  It’s HIS role to make these choices and I remember feeling a little ‘miffed’ at first like “all the other waiting bees are ring shopping for their own ring” LOL

Now I’m really excited to see what the surprise is and honestly am just more excited about what the ring stands for (OMG FINALLY GETTING MARRIED!) than what the ring details are.

All I know is that my ring is 19k Portuguese yellow gold, and the diamond is about .73

No idea what it costs, or the other diamond specs. My husband picked it out at his parent’s tiny jewelry store, and completely surprised me with it. It’s special and sweet knowing he chose it all by himself. We never had a ring discussion or went shopping.

I know absolutely nothing. I’m fine with this. He chose it and I am happy to wear it 🙂

I didn’t have any say in my ring. I did show DH a few things I like online but got to give no input. Is it my dream ring? No, but I knew whatever he picked out would look nice. The only reason I know the specs is because of the appraisal for insurance and the paperwork is in my posession.

My FI told me about some of the details. I know the center stone is 2.01ct, that the entire ring is 3ct, that the center stone has the best cut, vs2 clarity and is G in color. I know it was custom made with a CAD drawing that he showed me at one point. That’s about it – I don’t know the price.

I didn’t really ask for the specs, he just kinda spewed them out and I think he was really proud of what he was able to get me – he saved up for a very long time.

@Lana_Rose:  This is all I know… its a princess cut, white gold, and around 1.5 carats. And I LOVE IT. It has these details and IDK how big the center is vs the side stones, or what the design is called
