When you see my username and avatar you might think that I am fab with some Louboutins.
No. Thats not true. At all.
I feel I don’t really like my name and picture anymore but I don’t want to switch because being new sucks when people think your a troll. But whatever I don’t care. It is justtt a name. That isn’t really the point. But it got me thinking when I was reading that very famous Louboutin post that was floating around last night.
See, I am about 5’9, and most of that is legs. I love long lean legs with big ass heels. However, I don’t wear them often (rarely) because Fiance is like only 2 inches taller than me. If I wear heels I wind up 6’2. (Which can be nice depending on who you stand next too hhaha. My friends will say “JEALOUS!” and I’m like.. I feel awkward because your like 5 feet tall.)
I want to wear heels but then I am a couple inches taller than Fiance which isn’t noticeable, but I think he is “argh” with it. Then it makes me wonder if it is ok. But I am pretty thin and he is more naturally built, so I feel it shouldn’t be an issue.
Anyways..I am wanting these bad boys..
Randee by badgley mischka
Which look like this onnn
Although I do like these by Betsey johnson… Iconn, they are 100 bucks.
ANYWAYS. I got some crazy shoe coveting going on right now (it happens every spring)
How do you feel if you are taller than your FI? Or see women taller than their FI? (Like should I just not care? and prance around in these while I am young?)
Where do you wear your heels anyways? (the big ones)
Sorry for my mindless rant. I do that sometimes. I hope you followed me ahaha and THANKS!

I love seeing girls that are taller than their guys…I get so jealous! I’d love to be taller. I’m 5’2″ and have never dated anyone under 6’2″.
ROCK THE HEELS! And I love the Randees. And I totally get shoefever every spring, too!

I voted other because I am almost FI’s height when I have on heels. We are BOTH extremely tall (I think) because I am 5’9/5’10 and he is 6’4. So depending on the heel-height I can be a pretty comparable height to him. I prefer shorter heels simply for comfort reasons, and on “the big day” will be wearing flats because I am a whore for comfort. Like, seriously.
Wear whatever shoes you want! Those are both awesome, though I do like the Badgley Mischka ones best. I wear my high high heels when we are going “out, out” Like…dancing, bars, nice dinners, other weddings. Just not my own. Lol.

@AmeliaBedelia: Same here! I voted other because I am just about the same height as Fiance when I wear heels.

I’m 5’8″ and Fiance is 5’9″ amd I’m wearing 3.25 inch heels to our wedding so I’ll prob be an inch or two taller than him after you factor in the soles of his shoes. He is totally ok with it and I wasn’t going to pass up cute shoes on my wedding day. As a bonus I didn’t have to pay to hem my dress. I say go for those Randees, they’re gorgeous.

Well, I am 4 inches taller than Fiance. So it is pretty obvious all the time, even in flats. That being said, I don’t wear many heels, around him or otherwise. Being a 6′ freshmen girl will really turn you off sticking out anymore than you already do. I sometimes wear this really cute pair of aboit 1.5″ heels, but usually only if Fiance is wearing boots which make him taller. I am having such an issue with finding wedding shoes because all the cute ones are sky high, I can’t walk in them and Fiance wouldn’t like it if I did. He is secure enough to date me but prefers I not be towering almost 7 inches over him in heels. My personal insecurities aside, if you can rock them and they don’t make you a foot taller, rock them! I love both those shoes you posted.

I voted other. I am 5’9″ amd Fiance is 5’11” (so pretty much the same as you). In our everyday life I don’t mind being taller than him in 4″ heels, and neither does he. But he did specifically request that I not be taller than him in our wedding pictures, and I tend to agree with him for that day. So I shopped and shopped until I found a pair I loved with a 3″ heel (which puts him 1/2″ above me with his dress shoes on). I say go for what you love!! Does your Fiance care about you being taller on the wedding day?

I’m 5′ 6″ and Darling Husband is 5’11”. I just bought some 5″ platform sandals, which I love – but I feel like I absolutely tower over Darling Husband – so I haven’t worn them!!! (so sad) I’m even thinking of returning them. even sadder.
In ‘normal’ heels (3 1/2″) I’m fine with our height – but it just seems so strange to be towering over him….

@tntrav44: Reallly? See I find that so funny how the grass is always greener on the other side. I have a friend and she is about 5’2 and her busband is like 6’8. The top of her head comes to his chest. And I am just like “You can wear WHATEVER you want, whenever!!!”
Like I am a student, so yah I am a whore for comfort too. But I like them.. 🙁
I don’t go “out out” alot. I know student right? You think that I would be going out with the girls all the time.. but I don’t. So I don’t get the opportunity to wear heels alot.

My sister is the same height as her Boyfriend or Best Friend so when she wears heels, she is taller. What I think when I see a woman wearing high heels that make her taller than her partner is that it takes confidence for the girl and the guy. I love it because I think confidence is really sexy. 🙂

I love the look of heels, but I cannot for the life of me wear them longer than an hour at a time hah. I have pairs under my desk at work in fact so that I can switch into them for meetings.
In terms of being taller than Fiance, I’m about 2 inches shorter than him, and so if I wear heels, I’m taller than him. And I know it shouldn’t matter, but it makes me feel awkward.
So I guess it’s kind of a win that I like wearing flats more in the first place 🙂

I am taller than my FI when I wear heels. I have a major shoe addiction. I generally wear my heels at work to break em in and then I wear them out dancing or for anything that requires dressing up.
Fi isn’t a huge fan of me being taller than him but I wear them anyways because they make my massive calves look smaller :p

@MrsBrightSkies: Um he would a bit.. If I wanted to, he wouldn’t care, but I don’t think I would want to be taller than him in the pictures.
But we are having an outdoor wedding anyways, so heels in the grass is a no no. I would just aerate the lawn AHAH.
@oracle: DON’t return them! Wear them! We can be taller than our FI’s together haha
I like the Randee’s alot, but I don’t know how I feel about slingbacks/open heels. I don’t like my feet/heel showing. That is why I like the Betsey Johnson ones, they look cute in black, but I got black heels, I want nude/blush pink ones.

@MissHighHeel: I could have written that post!
Except I’m two inches taller than you. My Fiance is about two inches taller than I am, so it really limits what shoes I can wear without being taller than him. Normally, I’m fine with being a little bit taller, but I know he’s kind of insecure about it. So I’m going with 1 – 1.5″ heels for the wedding because neither of us really want me to be taller in all of our wedding pictures. It sucks because I’ve seen so many gorgeous pairs of heels that I would love to wear and it’s been a challenge to find really awesome shoes in a low heel. I’m having a pair custom made but I’m having doubts that I’ll ever even get them (they normally ship in three weeks but due to overwhelming demand – the company was featured on the Today show – they’ve run into all these manufacturing delays and I’ve been waiting almost three months!)

I don’t know about buying Randees. I pay like $13,000 a year in tuition. (lets just say I am a budget bride and Fiance is good with his money ahhhaha)
@JenniMichele: My mom said “It is OK to be tall, just don’t slouch your shoulders. I hate when girls do that”. So when I wear my heels, I try to be confident. But I clomp around in massive shoes with gangly legs HAHA.
So then I try not to slouch my shoulders so I puff up my chest, roll my shoulders and look tall. (FI does too haha) I try to look all bombshelly and confident. Although I probably look like a hot head!
