So, I have a confession to make. I just recently got engaged, and I think I have purchased 3-4 bridal magazines. The thing is, we're not getting married until the summer of 2012. I think I bought them because I didn't buy any until I was engaged (I felt slightly superstitious, like me buying a magazine would jinx my proposal. Go ahead, laugh :-)). I know that I will change my mind on things, but I just couldn't help it!

Anybody else have a confession to make? Is there anything that you're secretly obsessing over...or maybe not-so-secretly?

    I do!

I am a 4 dress 6 shoe bride and for some reason I still cant stop looking!

I also have never bought a bridal mag :/ does that make me a bad bride?

I confess.....I have actually already purchased my wedding gown but my future hubby has no clue! We have only been engaged for a few days!!! LOL. I fell in love with a cheaper online exclusive gown from David's Bridal and knew I couldn't pass it up. Could I have waited a few more weeks? Sure, but why not get it now and then have time for my mom (who is a seamstress) to make the necessary arrangements before our wedding in June. However, she doesn't even know I bought it!! I want to keep it a secret for a while longer so I won't look like an over eager bride. LOL.

Not wedding related, but I like the song "Take it Off" by Ke$ha.  I'm so ashamed.

I do not want any of my dads friends to RSVP yes because 90% of their wardrobe is made up of camo clothing and my dad is already wanting to wear a camo belt and tie.

I've never bought a bridal magazine either, and don't plan on buying one.

I am ashamed that my dress with alterations will probably end up costing as much as the caterer. I went over my original wedding attire budget by 2000%. Also, I'm a 2 dress bride. Embarassed

@keepsmiling19:  haahaahaaa For some odd reason the very second I got engaged I also purchased 2 bridal magazine. One of them was a complete flop as there were only 5-8 pages worth anything and the other was a Martha Stewart Weddings that was totally worth every penny spent.  After that initial purchase I only purchased two more, another Martha one and then a Real Simple one. Oh and I got the Seattle Met bride mag since it had great local vendor info and reviews....

I don't have a confession at the moment but I wanted to comment on your OP because it made me smile and laugh and its always great going down memory lane Wink

I also went way way way over my dress budget. Embarassed Oh Monique lhuillier how I love you and your Scarlet.

I am afraid to start really planning the wedding details because I am afraid to say that I don't like my FIL's ideas. They are quite opinionated.

I am not engaged and I own probably 20 bridal magazines. Can you say sucker? Embarassed

I also confess that I have pretty much been bugging my BF to death to get engaged and recently have been really nervous about it actually happening! Is that normal?

God I could confess a million more but don't want too many people to think I'm crazy.

@MsBrooklynA: I am with you on the magazines...  there are probably 10-15 squirreled away in our apartment and we aren't engaged yet either Wink

and it is completely normal to be nervous!  My BF and I were having fairly regular convos about getting engaged, and he agreed to start looking at rings together...  well on our 3rd visit to a store (while on vacation), I fell in love with a ring.  It was a deal too good to pass up.  He was like 'okay lets get it, you love it' and I had a major freakout because it felt like it was becoming real too fast, even though we had been talking about it for months...

@Chillmer: I read that and laughed because I, too, am guilty. That song comes on and I crank the radio up as loud it goes and I know it's not a good song, but I can't help it.

I have a dress, but changed my mind and told my FH that I would sell it before I bought another one. I'm letting my sister use it and then I'm going to save it.

Everyone thinks we are going to JOP our ceremony, but next week I'm calling to book the expensive site that I've wanted forever.

@keepsmiling19:  I totally did the same thing! Bought like 3 magazines that weekend. And I'm with you on not wanting to jinx it by buying them before the proposal, but it was hard to resist.

@bohemianbailie:  I had one of FFIL's RSVP "no" because it is a hunting weekend - and that we should have gone "off-season" when planning our wedding - FFIL agreed.

    My Confessions:

I secertly hoped for a lot of "no" RSVPs - I needed at least 30 and got 40!

I also purchased 2 bridal magazines a DAY after getting engaged

I use WB for hours while sitting at work (like now) and made all my invites and other wedding DIY things were done at work

We are secretly married - only our parents, siblings, and a handful of friends are aware

we got engaged but didn't start planning the wedding right away b/c we were going to buy a house (that didn't work out yet) but my friend (who is now a BM) ordered 3 different bridal magazine year long subscriptions for me (which was awesome) except we were engaged a whole year before i really started planning the wedding so i still have all the mags from a year ago and am reading through them all again!

My confession is that I'm not overly excited about planning my wedding anymore. Right after we got engaged I was SO excited and bought a magazine, signed up for the knot and of course discovered weddingbee.  We got engaged in the end of May and I would say June & part of July I was completely wedding obsessed but since then my wedding desire and mood have been no-existant! A lot of it has to do with the reality of the money involved and personal things that have happened within my family.  But I'm still here at the bee trying my HARDEST to get my wedding mojo back! Smile

I almost had the whole thing planned before we got engaged. I had narrowed down venues and put them in a spreadsheet (along with potential food selections), a list of photogs, djs, etc.

And FH wonders why I was so prepared and organized throughout this whole process Innocent

I am not so secretly wanting a lot of no RSVP's.  Our chapel holds 100 people and with the extra people my mom added and swears won't come our count was up to 150!

@starrgazer02:  we got engaged 2 1/2 years before our scheduled wedding.  I was soooooo excited to start wedding planning but then for a  1/12 I was like 'whatever"  and whenever someone asked me about wedding planning I said, "It's going" -- I too, lost my wedding mojo!  It will come back 6-9 months before your actual wedding date when you have to buckle down and make decisions!!

Instead of buying all the bridal mags i would sit in the bookstore coffee shop and snap pictures with my phone of the different things I liked. Why spend $5 on a magazine if you only like one or two things in it right?!

my confession is that I really *hate* my FFIL...I'm having nightmares about him ruining our wedding and every night I wake up upset and it makes me hate him even more.  I have to put on a brave face so FI doesn't know and I feel some days like it's killing me slowly from the inside out from insanity.

Another confession - I ran four miles outside after work today, and then drank a beer and ate raw cookie dough.  This is why I do not lose weight, people.

@MrsJKH2be: My dad inform me of all hunting seasons and was like well if the wedding starts at 3 I can still go in the morning! I am no joke having my FI stay at my parents so my dad will keep my FI's friends (all flying in from Sweden) from getting my FI to drunk the night before the wedding and my FI will keep my dad from hunting or fishing that night. I am so worried that my dad will get hurt or lost or fall of the boat!!

Our photographers took a lot of photos of me in the bridal suite on the day of the wedding talking on my cell phone, looking thoughtful. Anyone looking at the photos would assume I'm talking to my almost-husband, or at least some loved ones on their way to the wedding. Nope. Confession: I was wrestling with the owner of our local gelato shop trying to iron out the delivery of our raspberry gelato that went with our cake. I was on the phone with that guy 30 minutes before I walked down the aisle re-reading him my credit card number because he'd gotten it wrong earlier in the day. Glad it worked out!

Our parents talked us out of a quick JOP ceremony and into a wedding. I wish we'd never told them and had just gotten married.  We could still have had a big "wedding" later on.  I know our wedding will be fun, but I just want to be married already.

I bought a wedding Mag the DAY I got engaged.  My fin was with me and just rolled his eyes.

My confession is I am affraid to put deposits down on anything.  Not really sure why but I have only given the venue money and the rest I am freaked out about.
