I made the most beautiful confetti cones for the wedding sendoff! I ordered what they said was enough confetti from Ecofetti. The cost was something around $35! No big deal for confetti for 100 people! However, when it came in, it is about enought to fill 10 cones—not 150! After reading their website, it says that they ratiion out about a tablespoon for each guest. My cones are pretty big–it is going to take a lot lot more than a tablespoon to fill them, Maybe like a cup! Now what do i do? I cant affored the ecofetti for the amount that I will need!!!

I would switch to diy mode. Just grab some paper and start cutting or if you have access to a papper shreder with confetti mode use that. Mix it in with the store bought confetti and done. No one is going to care what the confetti looks like.

@babydollgirl: ditto, the most cost-efficent thing to do is make it you’re self

has anyone made confetti with a paper shredder??

@missmature: I used to use a cross cutting shredder at my crappy job in college, and it definitely made confetti out of everything we were shredding. A regular (non cross cut) shredder would at least get it into strips and then you could just cut those by hand.
Maybe you could get pretty paper meant for scrapbooking in your wedding colors to make into confetti!
