Everytime I was pregnant, that line showed-up immediately and was dark!  I think you’re gonna be a mommy!! ๐Ÿ™‚  Congrats!!

But hey… if you need more proof, go buy another test.  The digital ones are hard to deny! LOL

Congrats! I went to my doctor and had a blood test to confirm that I was really pregnant. But not everyone does this.

Congrats!  Sometimes doctors want to do a blood test to confirm the HPT, but you’re right, false positives are very unlikely.

I got a very faint positive when I first tested, then followed that up with a digital that was positive. I went to the dr to confirm, but I think it was a waste of time because they didn’t feel the need to perform a blood test, only a urine test as I was told by my dr that it’s not necessary unless I really wanted one.

When I went to the dr for the first time, I was kind of freaked out. I had to give them a urine sample, and then the nurse came in and asked some questions. No one ever actually told me “yes you ARE pregnant”. I took like 7 pregnancy tests just to be sure! I had bloodwork done that day too, but it wasn’t really to confirm the pregnancy. I think it was more to test for problems and check HCG levels. I read somewhere though that most pregnacy test now are just as accurate as a Drs test as long as you do them correctly. So I’d say your def pregnant!!!

Congrats!  Home pregnancy tests are actually pretty darn reliable, so a lot of doctors don’t insist on doing a confirmation blood test.  My doctor’s office didn’t require one, but I asked to have one, so they told me to just swing by the lab to have it done.  A warning though — for some reason they took a whole lot of blood!  I don’t really know why it was necessary to take so much.

Congratulations! I did a pregnancy test at the doctor’s office around 6 weeks. They also did an ultrasound to confirm the pregnancy. ๐Ÿ™‚ Every office has different protocol, but I don’t know that a blood test is initially required.
