Okay so I have always thought that I wanted a form fitting fit and flare wedding gown on my big day. But when I recently went to go try on wedding dresses I fell in love with the empire waist ball gown style. Everyone that was with me (including my consultant) told me that the fit and flare was the one and I had the figure to pull it off. I just didn’t feel like a bride in this type of dress. However, my wedding is outside and I’m thinking the fit and flare may look better in the overall picture of the wedding. I haven’t bought a dress yet, but I have another appointment in a week to go look. Any comments, opinion, thoughts, suggestions would be greatly appreciated 🙂
Here are examples of some of the dresses that I tried on:

I would not worry about what other people say. Wear what makes you feel most beautiful!

I say to heck with the “overall look” wear the dress that makes your heart sing. 😉 A delighted bride always looks appropriate.

Who cares about what they say, it’s how you feel in the dress. Whatever makes you feel gorgeous, that is what you buy.

@astinnett12: I really like the 2nd one personally. I just think fit and flare are too beauty pagenty….but thats just my opinion. wear what you feel makes you feel beautiful inside and out that is all that matters.

Don’t let your type of dress be decided on what you always thought you would wear and what you’re loved ones think (they aren’t the ones wearing the dress). I went in to dress shopping with one style dress in mind and came out with something totally different. Just go with the one you love! However, maybe it was just THAT fit and flare dress that you didn’t love. I’d suggest going to another store and trying on different fit and flare dresses and see what you think. If you keep thinking about the empire waist one while trying on the other dress, I think you have you’re answer!
