Am I supposed to send out the RSVP seperate from the invitation? Also, I am asking people to rsvp by 7/29/2012 which is about three months before the wedding, is this ok? Is it ok to send the invites out 6 months before the wedding or are the rsvps supposed to go out before the invites? I am just confused because our wedding was originaly supposed to be this past october but because of so many last minute things along with some other events we had to postpone it to october of 2012 and I don’t want that to happen again. Thanks for all your help!

Whoa whoa whoa.
Invites go out 6-8 WEEKS before the wedding, not months. Are you thinking of Save the Dates? You can send those out 6 months in advance.
RSVP and invitations go together. You usually send an entire invitations suite which includes the main invitation, an RSVP card, accomodations, directions, etc.
Save the Date:
Hope that helps! The only time you might want to send out invites sooner is if you’re having a destination wedding.

1 year-6 months before wedding: Save the Date
6-8 weeks before wedding: Invitation w/ RSVP card
3-4 weeks before wedding: Request return of RSVP card
