So today I went for my makeup trial. Overall, I’m pretty happy with it. But, it leaves me confused as to whether I should keep it the way it is. In person, I feel like it’s a bit too heavy – the eyes look a little too smokey, the blush a teensy overboard.
The thing is, makeup gets drowned out in pictures, especially in bright lighting. So I love the way the makeup looks in pictures, but not as much in person.
On my wedding day, should I ask my makeup artist to tone the colors down and risk looking more washed out in the pictures, or just keep things the way they are?
Here’s one in full light
And one with my vanity lights off (gives you an idea of how eye makeup looks in person, but blush is even brighter in person)

I personally think it looks beautiful and not too heavy at all! I vote you leave it as is. That said, if it’s uncomfortable for you perhaps have your MUA tone it down a little.

I think it looks beautiful, not heavy at all!

I say keep it the way it is. I think it looks great and you are right about wanting it darker for the pictures. I wear that much eyeshadow daily so I don’t think its too much.

I think it looks gorgeous as is! I had the same reaction after my trial but you really do need it for pictures.

I think it looks great and not heavy at all. I think it will translate really well in your photos. I vote keep it!

I think you look georgeous as is! I don’t think the blush is too heavy at all, maybe because you’re not used to wearing blush you notice it?

I really like it as is! But like @deathbydesign said, if you’re uncomfortable, tone it down a bit!

Thanks for all the input, ladies! Maybe I’ll ask for more of a taupe-y neutral eyeshadow instead of the smokey gray.
