I was on progesteron to help me get and stay pregnant, 200mg daily. I’m guessing it has something to do with the dosage you are on. Maybe there’s an upper limit of what is safe???

@trinity_542:  birth control is progesterone. It causes your body to think it is already pregnant. After you ovulate you produce progesterone and then it tanks and your period come. On BCP you take progesterone throughout your cycle so your body thinks its pregnant and doesnt ovulate. you switch to sugar pills which triggers your period.  More than likely it is the amount you are on and the fact that she wants to examine you before you can be OK’d to start again. If you got pregnant and lost the baby because of an infection the whole process would be started again.

@trinity_542:  sorry – didn’t see your question until now.

Yes, it did help. The doctor started me on it the day after I ovulated and I got a BFP that cycle. I’ll be 17 weeks tomorrow 🙂 I stayed on the progesterone until about 12  1/2 weeks.
