I think it depends on how open you want the corset back to be. If you want more of the lacing showing, get it taken in a little on the sides. But if you like the way it looks as is, it fits well (you don’t feel the urge to tug the dress up), and you don’t plan on losing any weight, I’d leave it. BTW, the back of your dress is so pretty!

That’s the beauty of a lace up dress; you can avoid alterations if you’re willing to have it tighter/looser in the back.  I say if you’re ok with it laced up close, save yourself the money on alterations.  If you imagined having a wider lace up, and really want it, do the alterations.

i love your long train! i think your waist looks fine without any alterations. besides, there’s no rule on how close or far apart the corset back needs to be, as long as it fits you properly.
