@MissCurlyQ:  It absolutely can happen – I dont’ know if it did or not. If you’re not temping there’s no way to know. But there was a January mama who thought she had had a positive opk around day 16 or whatever and BD’ed. Well, turns out she didn’t O until way later – like CD 30 or something. They managed to hit the FW just because and she got pregnant. So it definitely happens.

ETA: If your OPK was positive and your HCG test was negative, you’re probably not pregnant. The two hormones are fairly similar, but the HCG has something extra in it. So a pregnant person will probably get a + opk, but it doesn’t work the other way around. I will also say, that I used an opk recently at like 7 weeks, and it was blaring positive, but not as much as you’d think.

@Mrs.LemonDrop:  You could be Oing late.  The other possibility is that your urine was too diluted when you took the HPT.  Wait until tomorrow morning, take another HPT with first morning urine, and you should get a more accurate result.  I’d probably also keep taking OPKs – if they go negative again and you’re still getting BFNs on your HPTs, then you have your answer (late ovulation).

Good luck!

yeah i think you should take another preg test but also assume that you could be ovulating. do you temp?  that would help a lot in being able to tell if you ovulated.

@MissCurlyQ:  I would be annoyed too! I O’d really late this past cycle, apparently we hit the FW because we ended up with a BFP. Are you using a First Response Early Results test? If not go out and grab one and use FMU. Good luck!!!
