We got ours from La Bella Bridal Boutique in Occoquan. Even though it was quite a trek from Bethesda, it was worth it! You can see a more complete review at this link.
Another one we went to (larger, more selection, but less personalized service) is I Do, I Do in Gaithersburg.
A third choice is St. Anthony's Bridal. It is a charitable organization that lends wedding and reception items to brides on an extreme budget (under $3,000). However, regardless of your budget, they will sell you any of their gowns for $150. Basically, the dresses are donated, so the price you pay helps to support the charity's work.
DC BRIDES: you HAVE to check out Fabulous Frocks of Alexandria!!!!
they JUST opened this past month. the shop is GORGEOUS - not what you would expect from a consignment shop. The owner is young, and engaged herself. She was a blast to work with!!! Their whole goal is provide brides on a budget with a shopping experience like you would get at a "real" bridal salon - just because you're trying to get a great deal on a gown doesn't mean you should be treated like a second-class citizen :P SUPER refreshing.
The gown selection isn't very big right now, but considering they just opened, they've done a pretty great job. They also mentioned that they are getting new gowns in daily, and they do a gown sharing program with two other Fabulous Frocks locations in Charleston and Atlanta.
One thing to note: the price point seems to start at $1000 - there were no gowns for less than that, and given that they don't take in gowns that retailed for less than $2000, that makes sense. The average price point seemed to be around $2500-$3000. Keep in mind though that they only have gowns from the likes of Carolina Herrera, Ulla-Maija, Vera Wang, etc. So, if you're thinking that consignment = dirt cheap prices, not at this shop. but if this is within your budget, the deals are great!!!!
I can't say enough great things! Had a fantastic experience here and will be back for bridesmaids dresses too!! (they carry Jenny Yoo - new, no consignments)

I am looking for wedding dress consignment stores or dress shops that have sample gowns in the greater DC, Baltimore, Richmond area! I just don't have the guts to order a dress online that I've never gotten to try on and won't be able to return.
Thanks Bees!
