I know a lot of people are anti-Jared for all kinds of reasons (bad customer service, incompetent jewelers, crappy materials, etc…) BUT I firmly believe that it’s the people that make the establishment and not the name. I have been shopping at my local Jared for about 6 years, and I am consistently pleased with the level of service I receive. I only ever let one jeweler touch my jewelry, because I know he is incredible at what he does.
I recently purchased a yellow gold solitaire setting for my 2 ct. princess cut diamond, and after a few months I realized that I am not a wide band person. So I brought it in, told him what I wanted, and he reshaped the setting by hand in 2 days. It looks like it was manufactured this way. I couldn’t be more pleased with the outcome.

blondemotives: Love it even more now with the thinner band! I definitely agree with you. We shopped at Jared’s because I couldn’t find anything I liked in my city (in Canada) so we went to the states and I found my ring. Love it because its different than what my friends have. I have never had a bad experience from my Jared’s!

blondemotives: WOW! That made a huge difference and it looks fantastic. I love the band you paired it with, too! Gorgeous!

it’s gorgeous. Just make sure you have the prongs checked frequently. My friend’s diamond came out of a setting that Jared modified to sit closer to her hand. I’m not sure if it was metal fatigue, the jeweler himself, or her choice of setting.
I love the yellow gold. It works really nicely with the princess cut.

Beautiful! I love my local Jareds too. They made me my custom yellow sapphire engagement ring that is gorgeous. My husband was so inpressed with their work and service that he pretty much only shops there when buying me jewlery for a gift. He got me a GORGEOUS pair of earrings (blue diamond) and a beautiful opal necklace another time. The staff there was rather helpful in helping him pick it out (he is clueless about jewlery as is most guys), and I tend to like unique jewlery. I even had them do work on a ring I inherited. The setting was 60+ years old and the diamonds were over 100 years old, and they did an incredible job! I love their work and their prices are very reasonable. They have a huge warehouse of stones because they are such a big company and can order anything imaginable in for you. I’m sure it depends on the store, but I’ve more horror stories about Kays, which is the same company as Jareds but their lower end store.

Thanks everyone! I am so much in love with it now 🙂
seeker: I have my jewelry inspected every 6 months to make sure nothings wrong with it. I’ve had a couple of stones set about 12 different times there, and not once has one ever been loose or fallen out 🙂
mgbser: us too! I have purchased things from other jewelers in my town, but I’ve always been most please with Jared and they have a fantastic warranty.
