I am 12 weeks, and I have been having constant headaches for the last 5 weeks or so. I take Tylenol every now wnd then when it gets unbearable, but I don’t want to take it everyday. I still drink one cup of coffee in the morning so I don’t think t’s that. Anyone else have this? I will talk to my Dr about it, but my next appointment isn’t until the 29th. Thoughts or advice?

I’ve been walking around with a constant headache for weeks now! I alternate between tylenol, caffiene (fraps & lattes so it’s less & I can have more through the day if needed), and sometimes a hot showers if it’s from my neck/shoulders.
I’ve put my off on an old neck injury that isn’t liking the new shift in weight (20 wks here)…. and am looking into seeing a chiropractor to help!
You may also look into some prenatal massage or acupuncture =)

Thanks! Prenatal massage sounds amazing right now.

I had those when I was PG, and mine were blood pressure/volume related. When you’re PG, your blood volume increases pretty majorly (doubles?), but your veins don’t increase in size. You’ve got more blood pumping through the same small space, so your blood pressure rises = headaches. My OB “prescribed” a soda a day and advil (once I was out of the 1st tri), and that seemed to help some b/c the advil took the edge off the pain and the caffeine dilates the blood vessels. Definitely check with your OB, though, b/c he/she will want to make sure your blood pressure isn’t too high.

Fresh air usually does the trick for me. I usually go for a quick walk around the block, don’t know what I’m going to do when it’s bad weather!
I’ve been avoiding tylenol and caffenie like the plague and luckily fresh air has been the cure for my headaches thus far.

I’ve been getting a lot of headaches too. I’ve taken tylenol a few times this pregnancy, but I try to avoid it. Lately I’d been having multiple citrus fruits a day and was getting bad cluster headaches. I read online that some citrus fruits can cause cluster headaches, so I stopped, and they did go away. I know it’s often pregnancy-related but maybe also take a look at what you’re eating?

@shhh bee:Sigh. I gave up coffee so that I can use a sip of coffee to help with the headaches. I still get tons of massive headaches. From what I’ve heard–nothing you can do about it but suffer. 🙁
Nothing much helps me.

I had a lot headaches from about week 15-17, for me drinking plenty of water helped a lot.

I had daily headaches probably until about week 16 or so. I would take Tylenol only if they were unbarable (which they usually were). Otherwise the only thing that would seem to work is closing my eyes and putting ice packs on them. I got an eye mask that I kept in the freezer to put on when they got so bad.

@L2sweetpea: That sounds lovely right now. I may stop at the CVS afterwork and pick one up

@shhh bee I will tell you there were days at work when I would rest my head agaist a metal door frame because I didn’t have any ice or ice packs, but the cold truly helped 🙂 Hope you have some relief soon!

I had constant migraines for 3-4 weeks right at the beginning of my 2nd trimester. Tylenol and a bit of caffiene worked wonders for me.

I’ve been getting them a ton lately, as well. They usually go away on their own if I stretch and talk a little stroll around the office, but I usually have to hit the Tylenol at least once a week.
