I live in Canada and am in a situation where I feel like a cosumer proposal may be an option to settle our debts. I dont want to get into details but i’m just owndering if any of you ladies have doe this or know anyone who has and can help answer questions. Its kinda like Bankruptcy but not as intense… you still pay a portion of your debts without interest and it only messes up your credit for 2-4 years instead of 7.

@Pappy8: I’ll respond since no one else has yet, but sorry I can’t give first hand experience.
Just based on your other posts, I’m hoping I can help you out. Some of the questions may be personal, but maybe just thinking them through in your head will help.
You said you were planning on buying a house and taking a vacation. I’m assuming you’re not planning on buying a house anytime soon, but what happened to that money? Can it help you pay things off? Can you postpone the vacation?
Are you able to cut back on your spending instead? Are you able to get a loan with a lower interest rate to help you make the payments? What about a promotional CC if you could pay it off within the time frame of the promotion?
