In February, my OBGYN put me on a continuous pill. I have bad cysts that regularly rupture. He said many women experiencing cysts, painful periods, and possible endometriosis do better on a continuous pill because their symptoms are less likely to worsen. The first three months, I was fine. I had cramping when I would normally have a period and some light spotting, nothing the occassional pantyliner couldn’t handle. Fast forward to the second three months, and it is like I am having a full on period every other day. I have resorted to wearing a pad every day (HATE pads), because I have ruined underwear, clothes, and even bled on the mattress. I think my cysts must be getting worse–or something else is going on down there–because I have been in terrible pain the last three days. I have never in my entire life used a heating pad to help my pain, and I’ve been cuddling one around the clock. Will my body eventually get used to this pill? Will the bleeding every stop or at least only happen during what would, on a normal pill, be a placebo week? It goes without mentioning, this is putting a damper on my sex life because it hurts to try to do it or even to be turned on. BLAH.
