- Wedding: December 2011
I have read very few articles that actually help someone make a decision on how to Celebrate this momentus occasion.
Convalidation of Marriage is having your marriage recognized and blessed in the Catholic Church after having a civil or non denominational ceremony. There is absolutely nothing that says you may not treat this as a wedding because indeed it is. It is an actual Marriage through church and validating your commitment.
It can be a very informal affair done with multiple couples or it could be a personalized event. I have worked extensively with the local coordinator at our Parish who has confirmed this for me. People do what feels right to you. If you couldn’t have the wedding of your dreams the first time around- this is your chance!! I am not saying register at Neiman Marcus but make the day special with all the touches you didn’t get. No one can tell you otherwise. If the church is cooperating they are the ultimate judge.
While I begin planning mine, I would love to hear from those of you with ideas for yours.
