I wasn't Jewish but I still was a non-believer and now I'm a believer of Jesus and live daily for him.
I could share some of my experience(s) if you'd like :)
@amnystik: Sorry, I wasn't clear in my post. I mean't to say- anyone converting to Judiaism. Thank you for your response though.
Oh... oops. So if you don't mind me asking.. what would you be converting from?
@amnystik:I was raised Lutheran but I never considered myself the least bit religous though. It was just a sunday 'routine' until I moved off to college.
Ah, my grandparents are Lutheran, and yea staying with them over the summers was like that "routine" for sure.
I'm a non-denominational (simply Bible believing) Christian now.
What's made you consider Judiaism?
I'm converting to Judaism before our marriage next year. I was brought up Protestant and when I left home for college it sort of fizzled out. I realized that I'm not sure if I believe in God- my paternal grandmother was Jewish and also my great-grandfather on my mother's side.
My FI doesn't care if we have a Jewish wedding or if I convert, but I really want it so we're doing it. Jewish culture and family life is really important to me and I want to be able to say "we're Jewish" about the whole family. Also, I want to study and get more education (although I've done a lot already) in order to have a knowledge base that my FI got in hebrew school all those years.
I hope that helps!
I second Mrs. Hot Cocoa's blog posts as a great read on conversion! My very best friend is considering conversion through a Conservative rabbi, actually for many of the same reasons as @GretaCT (has Jewish background in her family tree, wants to share it with her future husband and future children). I send her Mrs. Hot Cocoa's blog posts and she found them very insightful!
@GretaCT: Thanks so much the post! That's exactly how I felt about religion when I left for college, it just fizzled out! Still to this day I don't exactly believe in God, I consider myself more of a secular Humanist. My FI would marry me either way, but it will make him beyond happy when I convert next month. Its extrememly important for him to carry on the cultures and traditions, even though he also agnositc/humanistic. I have the Mitveh booked for June!
@PitBulLover: Thanks for the blog posts!! That is exactly what I was looking for!

Hi, is there anyone out there who is willing to share your conversion experience. What motivated you most to do it, pro's, con's? Any regrets? Thanks much.
