I LOVE my ring. Its perfect and my FI did an awesome job. But I also love this other ring. I always said I didnt want a halo but for some reason, I love this other ring. COuld I convert my ring into the halo ring? What do you think?

@MissEMich:  Girl, I am swooning over your ring over here. I wouldn't do a thing to it. It's gorgeous!

I think you could but it may cost you.  Look into ring enhancers first!

@MissEMich:  Could you? Yes, your current ring could probably be redesigned to look like that particular halo design. But why would you? You love your ring, your FI picked it out for you and I think it's gorgeous the way it is, don't change it! Why not get a RHR with a similar design, maybe with a sapphire or other center stone?

I think it's perfect just the way it is but you are the one that will be wearing it everyday and if it makes you happy and your FI is ok with it, then go for it!

I think you will be happier in the long run with the ring you have. Sure you might love the halo, but it is porbably a passing phase. I adore pave bands. But i'm glad i dont have one because in the long run my ring suits me better.

I agree that in the long run, I will like my ring better. He first picked a halo and I told him I wanted a solitare. I guess I could look into enhancers or get a rhr. Ill look into it more. :)

Leave it alone!  Your ring is gorgeous. A halo would only detract from it.

You love your ring. I'd leave it as is. Get a halo for a RHR instead.

@MissEMich:  your ring is stunning.  you could add a halo but i think long term, you will be happier as is.

i loved halos when they came out too so i did what i thought was best...i bought a gorgeous halo rhr.  it satisfied my infactuation with halos and i got a new accessory.

get a halo rhr for now.

As much as I love halos, I think your solitaire is way prettier than that ring.  I second GFerg.  You should get a halo RHR to satisfy your desire for one.

I would check for a halo enhancer first, that way you don't have to change your ring.

    Something like this mybe.

I agree with PPs! I LOVE your current ring as is! It's a serious show stopper Laughing That said, I also had my solitaire reset into a Tacori setting I couldn't stop thinking about, so I'd understand if you made the change. As an aside, my reset looks a lot like yours but with an emerald diamond!

Both rings are gorgeous! If I were you I'd go to a local jeweler to see what they could do and for how much. Just because you get a quote doesn't mean you have to go through with it, but at least you'd have an idea of what can be done if you do decide to go for it!

I like that enhancer but I want diamonds down the band. Thanks for the ideas/advice/compliments! :)

Your ring is stunning! While I do understand the draw to change a look - in this case I don't think it's a wise choice.

Enhancers do give you another way to maximize coverage on your finger, but looking at your ring, I just don't think that's an issue is it?

Have you picked out a wedding band? I bet you can get a very unique look by shopping around for a stunning wb. Your ering is to die for, really.

If I am being honest, the ring you have now is absolutely beautiful! It is simple and elegant. I do not think you should change it. The other ring is nice, but not nearly as beautiful at the one you have now!

Honestly, I agree with everyone else. I think your ring is much prettier. However, that is my personal opinion and I don't mean to insult anyone who has or loves halo rings. I just feel that a halo, while it makes the ring look bigger, detracts from the center stone because there is so much going on.

If it isn't an issue of cost and if you are certain it won't hurt your FI's feelings, go for it. However, I think an enhancer is the better alternative. You can wear it when you want the illusion of a halo, but you can always take it off if you change your mind and you have your classic ring still in tact.

I think your ring is stunning as is. Laughing

I love your current one, but the other one is really pretty too.

The halo style you show is not super uncommon, so if you could not justify the cost of a second diamond ring (although resetting it would not be cheap either), you could get one in something less expensive (Asha, Moissanite, CZ...) and switch them up for a change!

I LOVE my halo.  A lot.  Why don't you see if you can find a cheap CZ at like Walmart or something and try it on and see if you like how it looks before you make a concrete decision.  :)

    Convert it? Is it religious?

Seriously, just leave it as is. It's beautiful.

Thanks ladies. I think you are right, leave my ring as is and just get a RHR. I suppose I should now prowl berracle to find a RHR. lol. Or...I guess I could just get a stand in that looks like the halo, like for when we go on vacations (beach) and such. Thanks lovies!

Going through the same thing :) I recently got a rhr with clear / white sapphires and I am so in love with it that I am thinking of having my solitaire set into the center. I decided to wear the halo on my left hand for a while before I make any decision. Get a stand in (if you haven't yet) and see how you like it. Your original ring is beautiful though....but I totally understand the appeal of the halo settings. It was this darn place that turned me on to them.......so much beautiful ring porn !!!!!!!
