- Wedding: July 2012
Our wedding is turning out to be SUPER EASY. Before, when we lived in KY, we planned on 200+ guests, std, invites, hurt feelings, decor decor decor diy decor, photog, huge reception, multiple attendants, dresses, cake, caterer, shoes, flowers…etc etc…it was terrible…so we scaled back to include a honeymoon in our “wedding week”..also helped that Fiance took a in MS so going back to KY for a wedding and then having a honeymoon wasn’t feasible with only 9 days off of work.
Now that we’ve decided to do a Destination Wedding on Sanibel Island our to do list has dropped significantly..my dress (sketches received yesterday!!), his attire, my daughter’s attire…officiant for beach ceremony…no ceremony decor (this is a compromise..I wanted super gazebo things to happen..but it’s only for 15 minutes…) a dinner at Doc Fords (anyone been there? I haven’t so I’m trying no to worry) with the 40 guests or less that are attending, drinks…cakes made by my sister and I….no fancy reception or dancing…cute oot bags that I’m working on, invitations are being gifted from graphic designer friend, stds were made by me ( I felt like I didn’t have to have super expensive since it’s just family and close friends-no one to impress?) and we get to stay for a week with most of our guests on the same island….
My question is…What can I do to make the wedding part “stand out”?? We arrive Saturday as do most of the guests, and we scheduled the wedding for Tuesday night so that everyone would have time to relax, get some sun, get to know each other…
I just don’t want people to feel like the week is so relaxed that there isn’t any excitement in the middle of the week for our very low key wedding….ideas? I feel like I should be frantic right now and in the middle of chaos but I’m not!! And it’s in 104 days!
