I plan on using home baked cookies in cd envelopes as my favors. I will be baking the cookies a week or two ahead of time and freezing them. I want to wrap each cookie in plastic wrap so there are no grease marks on the paper envelope. My question is….
If I wrap the cookies individually in plastic wrap before I freeze them, can I simply thaw them in the plastic wrap and place them in the envelopes? Or even place the wrapped cookies in the envelopes while still frozen? Or will there be a problem with condensation? Thanks.

@karmills84: Why don’t you save yourself the trouble and test out a mini-batch? It might even depend on the type of cookie you freeze as well as the plastic wrap you use to wrap them.

I think you will be ok if you freeze them ahead of time. Every year for Christmas, I have to make 10 batches of our family’s chocolate chip recipe and I freeze them ahead of time. When they thaw, they do not give off any excess moisture so I can put them frozen straight into gift boxes lined with tissue paper. I agree with the PP that you should do a small test batch to be 100% sure.

@beachbride1216: I agree with this. I did test batches when baking for a bridal shower I hosted and it really made all the difference doing a trial run.
