Rice crispy treats are creative and different... I'd love them. But if you are going for a cleaner look, the cookies might be the way to go!
I love the rice crispies idea. It's a different spin on the cookie favor!! And those flip flops are so cute!
I also would go with regular just because of people with allergies and all to peanut butter plus I'm a total fan of 'real' rice crispies...made with kellogg's cereal and kraft jet-puffed mashmellows.
can you do both? also please check to make sure that no one has a nut allergy... btw i think i go with the rice krispy treat, YUMMY1!
I love rice crispy treats! That would make such a yummy favor! (And I also agree that with the PB you'd have to be careful of nut allergies.)
I LOVE rice crispy treats w/ peanut butter & chocolate! Mmmm... However, I voted for regular rice crispy treats. So many people have nut allergies- its smart to avoid peanut butter :)
i've gotta say cookies!! the treats are different, but i love love cookies!
I think RK Treats taste better but the cookie pic you posted looks better. I don't know if I would have recognized the RK treat as a flip flop right away without having read the post. Cookies are yummy, too. Hmm I'm kind of torn. Coul you split it up do both and maybe do a different design for the rice krispy treat? If you are going with a beach theme, maybe a beach ball or something easier to make out of a rice krispy treat?
I agree with Kitty - like the taste of RC but the cookie looks cleaner. If it's not a hassle I'd do both and let people decide.
I'll be the odd one out and say cookies!! I love cookies, I live for cookies. I think the cookies look a little bit neater when decorated, the rice crispy treats are too bumpy (at least for my frosting skills anyway). Om nom nom!
Have you ever done cut outs of rice crispies? THey are a PAIN. i swear, we used to make them every year for recruitment with little owl cut outs. Oh gosh, you just end up hating it.Cookies would be easier in the long run i think
Oh yeah and PS - now I want both a cookie and a rice krispy treat. Thanks a lot!
Thats what i was thinking with the cookies, they look neater. I don't know if the rice crispies used a flip flop cookie cutter though and i think if you formed it more you'd be able to tell more? With our reception we want it to be more fun than...... classy, i guess? We are having a pig roast and if it were going to be warm (we live in michigan and its going to febuary) we'd probably have it outside in someone's backyard and it'd probably be on redneck wedding. Ok not that bad lol. But have you ever seen how much fun some of those weddings look like they'd be? :) We are getting married on a cruise so everything at our reception is going to be vacationed/beach/cruise themed. I still have over a year left until the reception, but i just think they are way too cute and know i want to do something with them
Skip the peanut butter. Lots of people hate it and others are allergic. Also, making cutouts with cookie cutters will be a complete nightmare. Rice krispy treats are great on their own but just cut them in squares to make it easier for you.
I agree with others if you can do both, people always enjoy options :)
I like cookies better! BTW, I keep seeing this post and it makes me want to eat a rice krispie treat and cookies!

Which one would you rather have as a favor? We are going to used a flip flop cookie cutter and if I use rice crispies i'm going to use chocolate frosting to decorate the strap and whatnot and with cookies it'd probably just be regular frosting. My mom also has a recipe for a peanut butter rice crispy treat which I would use the chocolate frosting with that. I do think the cookies are way cuter buttttt, i think the rice crispies would taste better!
