My son is getting baptised this weekend and I’ve taken on the task of cooking for our small family gathering afterward. I’m a disaster in the kitchen, so I’ve turned to my standby, easy to prepare recipes.
- pulled pork sandwhiches
- glazed carrots
- seasoned potatoes (cut up, tossed in italian seasonings with parmesean cheese)
The pulled pork is going in the slow cooker, and I’m going to cut up and season the potatoes ahead of time, then pop them in the oven after the service. But I don’t know how much meat/potatoes to make. Any kitchen-savy bees out there that can help me out?

@mrstilly: I’d say you need around 4lbs of pork (maybe a little extra for leftovers or second helpings)
and 12 large potatoes.

So for 12, with likely leftovers I would do
13-14 lbs of pulled pork (precooked since it cooks down a ton!) You want about 6 ounces oer person of cooked meat. Plus there arent a ton of other food options
6-7 lbs of potatoes
4 lbs carrots
a few really large bowls of salad (although people will eat much less lettuce based salad than a non-lettuce based salad)
I would actualy recommend making a different kind of salad than a traditional lettuce and tomato salad. Maybe a greek salad, sans lettuce (so feta, cucumber, red onion, tomato, pepperoncini, shredded carrots etc)
